invisible notification window mac
My teams client was updated to 1.3.00.28778 on 11/13/20. Prior to this update, I did not have the problem I describe below:
1) Launch Teams
2) Receive a message from a teammate prompting a notification
3) Switch to Teams
4) Read message
5) Select Window Menu
6) Observe that a window titled "Message Notification" still exists
7) "Bring All To Front" does not make a notification visible
8) No option exists to close this Message Notification window
Others have complained about this problem - a quick search using Google for "invisible notification window" gets multiple hits.
The window is not itself annoying; rather, it remains the default window, so command-tab switching to one application and back to teams does not cause the main Teams window to display.
Is there any way to fix this issue?
So... this is the cause of my cmd+tab issues? Well then... please FIX!!!

As pointed out, why not use the native capabilities of the macOS platform? Every other macOS app does this correctly, why not Teams?
Why did you have to roll your own solution for notifications when native notifications exist? I have to cmd+tab (alt+tab) twice every time I want to switch back to Teams.
Tell me "the devs who built MS Teams don't actually use MS Teams" without telling me "the devs who built MS Teams don't actually use MS Teams"
It's unreal how far Microsoft went just to reinvent the wheel on this and actually end up with less functionality than native OS notifications.
Obviously the Teams development team does not use Teams.
Any feedback from MS on when this issue will be fixed?
Oh good grief. THIS is why I keep thinking Teams has crashed. The windows have simply gone away.

With multiple spaces and multiple displays, this hack of a notification system significantly cuts into my productivity. It's the only app I have to use a mouse for to navigate. Please remedy this issue asap.
Video of the flickering of, what I think is, the "hidden" notification window because of the placement.
Very annoying, not being able to Cmd+tab to Teams.
Also when quickly switching spaces with "reduced motion" turned on I see a small invisible box that causes visual artefacts (see attached file).
And also related to the notifications: PLEASE remove the notification sound from the media controls menu. After every single call I try to resume my music by pressing the play button on my keyboard and I hear the "incoming call" notification sound...
Looks like the notifications on Mac could use a revamp...

This is driving me crazy, only workaround is cmd/tab and highlight Teams icon, whilst still holding cmd press the up arrow which will display all the Teams windows including the invisible window then press the left or right arrow to highlight the Teams window you want and then press enter. Hoping for a fix from MS in the near future.

This switching issue is SUPER annoying. Please either use the default MacOS notification system or make the main Teams window always the one that gets switched to, instead of the (omnipresent but invisible) notification window.

I'm having the same exact issue, hopefully there's a fix coming out soon. Until then I'll keep using Slack as not being able to quickly switch between windows is effecting productivity
I use Teams in full-screen mode. I can swipe right/left to enter/exit the Teams screen. I can also click on the Teams icon in the Dock to go to the Teams full-screen window. Recently however whenEver one of the purple Notification windows appears it interferes with clicking on the Dock Icon. If I look at the Teams Window menu it lists two windows: my main Teams window and Microsoft Teams Notification. If I choose the notification window nothing appears. If I'm in the Finder or Chrome and I click the Teams Dock Icon the menu bar changes to the Microsoft Teams menu but no window appears. If I click the Dock Icon again then it takes me to my main Teams window. If I quit Teams and restart it the Notification window isn't listed in the Window menu and Clicking the Dock Icon one time takes me to the Teams Window (like it should). But after I get another notification it goes back to requiring me to click the Dock Icon two times to get to the Teams Window.
This invisible or hidden Notification window is causing the app to not work correctly. I expect that one click on the Dock Icon will take me to the main Teams window.
I'm on a Macbook Pro and Catalina 10.15.7. This seems to have started about a month ago.
