Blur option disappeared
Blur background during a call recently disappeared on my computer. It was working perfectly fine previously then a recent update took the feature away.
I've done some investigation and discovered that it is likely related to the AVX2 requirement for CPUs. My CPU does not have that, yet Blurring worked perfect without it prior to the update that enforced that requirement.
Please relax the requirements for Blur again.
I'm not the only one complaining:
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams/no-more-background-blur/m-p/1236658

We have fixed the issue to enable Background effects and Background Blur for machines with AVX CPUs running on Windows10.

Same issue here. The blur function of Teams (on iPad Pro) disappeared a couple of months ago. No idea why, it worked as well before.

Exactly the same here. It did work now it does not, why? I think this is a deal breaker for some companies so MS will loose out by imposing this restriction as part of their latest update.

Same here, it has been working on my hardware and now it don't.
Problem seems to be double sided, both related to CPU / GPU and then on internal / external webcam.
Actually i also have problems with my camera automaticly zooming in to a level that i find "to close" - in other video conf programs i have control of the camera, why not in Teams

Yes, please add back for now. Take it away again after COVID-19 pandemic. I can't replace my users laptop until we're back in the office.

Get the blur feature back on please, even without AVX2! Works well with other companies' software.

Could I ask why the option was removed when it was previously working well?

My HP Elitebook Workstation has a Intel Core i7-3740Q CPU.
It's more powerful than some other newer CPU, but it's lack of AVX2 support.
So I can't have the background blur in Teams... :-|On the other hand this feature is working properly within Skype!
PLEASE remove this restriction and let the users have the blur feature back in Teams!

Microsoft...it's time to do the "right thing" and turn this back on for all of us that need to be working from Home. We'll just all think it's an oversight on your part but now is the time to do the "right thing" and turn it back on.
Thanks in advance...

A stupid decision from a stupid and cupid company.
It works with ZOOM, it works with Skype.
Are you just able to copy/paste codes from others ???
I'm fed up with Microsoft, it's a pain, a wart on the computer face. -

The way how Microsoft forces you to buy new hardware from their sponsors. The stupid arrogance and ignorence from Micro$oft.
