Teams keeps changing my status to away
I need to be able to set my status to available and prevent teams from changing it to away.
It's a VERY widespread problem:

This causes my teammates to send chats when I am actually in meetings because the status no longer says in a meeting. Very disruptive.
When working in Visual Studios or other web applications I have found that if I’m not actively engaging in teams consistently it will set my status away and I have to click it multiple times before it will show me as available. It’s almost like external applications are not capturing mouse movement or clicks to keep the status from looking like I’m away from my computer.

Should be an option if an administrator enabled that option (i.e. policy) in the first place.

Workaround to prevent away status messages and screen savers:
Put your mouse on top of an analog watch. Every time the second hand pass the mouse a small mouse movement will be detected ;)
Be careful in an office as this may a security problem if you really leave your computer unattended.

Teams can safely change a person's status if their PC is locked or asleep or powered off or if there's no net connection. However, Teams should NOT assume a person is away from their desk/PC and/or that they are unavailable simply because they haven't touched their mouse or keyboard for a while.
When I'm reviewing paperwork or working on another device, I may not be active on my PC but that doesn't mean I'm away and it doesn't mean I'm not available!
And, if I manually set my status to available, Teams should not ignore/contradict me after only 5mins. At the very least, we should be able to tell Teams how long to wait before ignoring our instructtions. Please fix it!
I am facing the same issue. Most of the times, my status appears away although i am working on my system. Please suggest a way to show myself available.
Same problem, Teams is open but it switches autonomously no "not available" because it is not active (not looking at that).

I'm reading documents all day, so if it takes more than 5 min to read a document it says i'm away... I noticed it won't switch back to normal unless I open the app. Totally broken.
Please allow us to set the "Away" or "Idle" time like we are able to do in Skype or Lync. When I am in a WebEx or Zoom or GoToMeeting, after 5 minutes, Teams marks me as away instead of showing me busy. This is unacceptable.
