Deletion policy not completely clearing chat history
With regard to Retention/Deletion Policies:
We noticed that we can now set a "Deletion" policy for Teams Chats which says to delete any conversation older than 24 hours. We've implemented this policy and we'd like to share a couple of observations...
1.) It took about two weeks for the "desktop" Teams Clients to start scrubbing their chat histories.
2.) The "desktop" Teams Client is not consistently adhering to the deletion rule. For example: Mostly all chat history was cleared, but in a few cases parts of several conversations remain visible from activity which took place over 2-10 days ago.
3.) The "web" Teams Client seems to be clearing chat conversations as we've defined.
4.) The "Recent" view in both the "web" and "desktop" clients still shows the names and topics of the deleted chat threads (the content of each thread is deleted however). [see attached file]

for #1, we noticed that signing out and back in in the Teams desktop app (I assume quitting the app would also work) deletes the chat history that otherwise should've been deleted prior to signing out.
We have this same issue and support said they know it's not working properly, but not much they can do about it currently.
