  1. Copying code snippets dangerously broken

A recent change has severely broken copying from code snippets. Selecting any portion of a code snippet now silently copies the entire snippet to the clipboard. This is extremely dangerous, as it can lead to unintentional execution of commands if pasted into a terminal.

It looks like this was an implementation of https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/34879543-copy-code-snippet, but this is the worst possible choice. Please revert this change, and make copying the entire snippet an explicit contextual menu item.

  2. Cannot open Whiteboard app on iOS under proxy environment

unable to open Whiteboard app on iOS. Error received: We couldnt reach Microsoft services. Please confirm that youre online, or contact your admin for assistance.

Device is on corporate Wi-Fi and needs to use a proxy to access the internet. A packet capture from the device shows that the application is not using the proxy server configured and is attempting to reach the following IP addresses directly which is not possible on their network. 52.143.128.69 and 52.143.111.143.

Proxy is set via a Wi-Fi policy from MDM and all other web traffic uses this.

  3. Background effects application is confusing

Background effects can be important for privacy. The current mechanism is: Choose a background, and then press "Apply and turn on video" button. I often make the mistake of choosing a background, and then turning on video with the video control (not the "Apply and and turn on video" button) and so not getting my chosen background. This is annoying at least; more importantly it can violate a privacy choice.

At the very least, the button should just be "Apply" (without "and turn on video"). Having different ways to turn on the video is confusing. This is a bug.

  4. If I unmute myself in Teams and I'm also in a separate Zoom meeting, my Zoom meeting unmutes also

Training hosted by a 3rd party is most often held in Zoom, but I use Teams internally (so for everything I can). While I'm in Zoom meeting, and it breaks for coffee I'll mute my mic. Then I switch over to Teams to catch up with colleagues by chat or meeting. If I enter a Teams meeting and unmute my mic, my mic is ALSO unmuted in Zoom. That shouldn't happen. Is this a Teams bug or a Windows bug or? Someone needs to fix this to avoid a privacy breach.

  5. Removing person from a meeting bug

When you get added to a meeting by a person and later you get kicked out by another person, While getting removed the picture of the first person who added you to the meeting shows rather than the person who kicked you it’s a huge matter of privacy.

  6. Bug in Microsoft Teams Screen Sharing feature

Bug in Microsoft Screen Sharing feature while attending a meeting, allows everyone in the team to share the screen even when the host has opted for the invite-only option.

  7. Polling

There is problem in Polling in teams. Each time one voted, It would show the winning percentage which is not confidential because it would easily be known that who voted for whom and if we turn off the ability to view winning percentage by voters ,we wouldnot be able to view the final result

  8. verification

Having been locked out after correctly entering the verification codes sent by text today, but being told they are wrong on every attempt, I'm chuffing annoyed. My suggestion would be to enable your customer service team to do more than handle routine enquiries and actually fix a problem. Looks like Teams will not be working for the Job interview tomorrow, so thanks for nothing Microsoft. Same shoddy service I used to expect in the 90s seems to be back.

  9. Could hear someone else's meeting during our meeting

When I joined my regularly-scheduled meeting this morning, I immediately began hearing someone else's meeting. I was the only one who could hear it. Even after I completely quit MS Teams (which stopped the audio from MY meeting and logged me off, as you'd expect), the audio from the other meeting continued streaming in. I had to completely reboot my computer to stop the audio from the other meeting. After the reboot, I was able to join my scheduled meeting with no issues--and no audio from anyone else's meeting.

Ironically, the other meeting was about computer security.

    This was on…

  10. It is imperative (GDPR) for Teams to start working on privacy settings for users.

It's not normal that I can't choose what to show to other users, for example, my private number to my boss or co-workers. There should be the option to hide any personal information I don't want to share with others. All this, under the GDPR in Europe, because if you cannot offer privacy to users, you shouldn't be able to operate in this region, that's how it is. I urge Microsoft Teams to start working on it because it is a serious matter.

  13. When setting a channel to "Only owners can post messages" any non-owners can still reply to posts in that Channel.

When you configure "only owners can post messages" this should extend to replies as well, effectively making certain channels read only.

  15. Allow user to override Microsoft ip reputation data on application layer before Azure AD

Please review the following post https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msteams/forum/msteamstfb-msteamssignupin-msteams_subin/my-account-has-been-blocked-in-teams/ea98eb91-ac3c-4828-b40a-d420cd5356bc

Microsoft uses some third party low quality ip reputation provider (like MaxMind) and uses its data to block user on Azure AD layer (Malicious IP address https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/identity-protection/concept-identity-protection-risks). This absurd makes Microsoft Teams unusable from most popular providers like OVH, Hentzner, etc ip ranges (many ip addresses from their ranges persists in MaxMind fraud databases).

Please review Google and Amazon solutions: Microsoft can allow user to whitelist his ip addresses, so it won't be treated as suspicious on Microsoft layer (before Azure AD). Please don't try to response with "contact your Azure…

  16. User "Log off" keeps credentials stored, Security Problem with shared user accounts / devices

Using Teams with Android or desktop version on a public client like "meeting room computer", no personalized user account.
After Teams log off (Options: log out) no password is asked, credentials are stored locally. If you can guess the username like firstname.lastname its easy to gain access to their data, when this person has used Teams on this public machine before.

This problem has been adressed a while ago, the known workarounds like deleting the local %user% app cache doesn´t work anymore.

Another option, disable client via azure admin is the wrong way.

The easiest solution would be an option…

  17. Bug - Teams - Attendees have joined at meeting, but do not show up on the "In this meeting" list under Participants, after they joined.

Affected (Windows) version: Microsoft Teams Version 1.3.00.34662 (64-bit)

This has occurred on numerous clients for both internal (corporate) and external attendees not being displayed. Audio can be heard from the "invited attendees", even though they are not displayed in the "In this meeting" list.

Please fix ASAP, as this presents a huge issue with attendees joining the meeting without any indication or notification.

    Thank you!

  18. Owner could not access planner

Team owner could not access a plan shared to the team. Viewing plan via web address showed owner was not a member. Going to M365 admin centre and adding owner as a member to the active group resolved the issue. So the owner is in the active group as both an owner and a member.

  19. Users hard deleted from AAD continue to appear in Teams user cache for up to 2 months after being deleted

Deleted users should definitely not be searchable within Teams after the account has been hard deleted from AAD. Ideally, all references of the account should be removed from future Team meeting invites and some sort of notification message should be displayed to alert colleagues that the user is no longer contactable via Teams as they have left the organisation.

Deleted users continuing to be visible in Teams gives the perception that those users still exist within the organisation. This causes confusion for end users and leads them to question whether users that have left the organisations have actually been off-boarding…
