"Wait in lobby" for student (participants) in scheduled meetings
In order to use scheduled meetings for teaching is necessary that the meeting organizer can force student to "wait in lobby" if they try to enter the meeting before the teacher.
In my case, students are part of the organization, they are not guests. For this reason, this functionality for my school is not possible.
The possibility to force participants (even if part of the organization) in the lobby is necessary, because otherwise students could use the scheduled meeting to enter by their own and talk privately without the teacher.
We are happy to announce the “Only me” option for the “Who can bypass lobby?” setting is now available for Teams meetings. Details on the new lobby option can be found here, https://support.microsoft.com/office/change-participant-settings-for-a-teams-meeting-53261366-dbd5-45f9-aae9-a70e6354f88e.
Additionally, we have updated our EDU specific guidance for meeting management. Please visit https://support.microsoft.com/office/keeping-students-safe-while-using-teams-for-distance-learning-f00fa399-0473-4d31-ab72-644c137e11c8, for more information for both administrators and educators.

Hi I am facing this same issue that the students are able to join the meeting on their own and talk without my permission though I have changed the setting to only me as who can bypass the lobby but still this issue is there
The "only me" is a great start! How about an only those I select option. This way an admin or another staff could begin the meeting if necessary.
I set those and when I’m in meeting they just appear...is that because I’ve already started the meeting?

Would be great if any owner of the team could bypass the lobby, so co-teachers, admin, sub could also bypass the lobby and start the scheduled meeting if a teacher is absent!

It would be great if this was part of the policy and also included "Selected users"
We also have the same concern. We wish to take off this "burden" from our educators and have it implemented as a global policy instead. Thanks!!!
This is better; but I've got to rely on every teacher to do this individually for every meeting they organise? Really needs to be a global policy. (Also, I can't get to Meeting Options on my Mac as it doesn't work with Safari, which is very irritating.)

Is there a user voice to vote this as global policy? I can't find any. Can anyone create a user voice for this?

This feature would be amazing. My school has struggled with this as well. We have little ones and they sometimes start their own meeting rather than joining the appropriate one made by the teacher. My phone gets flooded with parent texts trying to resolve the issue, taking away from teaching time.
When will Admins be able to apply this as a Global policy?
Yes! Thanks for adding this important function. Just tested it with my class and it worked well.
What would take it to the next level would be to have a teacher-only switch inside the meeting that auto-admits students for a specified time period (say 2, 3 or 5 minutes).
Yay! Thank you for adding this feature. This will be very helpful for teachers.

This is great news, moving forward how as an Admin can I set this as a default for the whole school?
Does the IT Admin has any option to enable this option for the whole organisation?

Yes, thankyou! This is working really well.
Is there any setting in Microsoft teams to make student wait in looby.
Student will enter in meeting only after teacher join the meeting
When will this option roll out
We are very disappointed with this service
Students start meeting with out a teacher
Scheduled meeting starts before time and no lobby
Can it be rolled out fast
