Ability to record meetings in private channels
Holding meetings in private channels is really useful (students don't need to know when instructional staff is meeting), but I want the ability to record them like I can in a general channel. Recording 1-1 meetings would also be helpful to international students who could then review them.
This feature request is being reviewed by the feature team. No new details to share at this time.

As a teacher this feature would be extremely useful. Teaching modern languages, it's a great feature to be able to make small groups in a private channel for group speaking work, but as part of safeguarding we have to record all meetings with students - so unless we can record the meetings it means we can't use small group private meetings - a real shame as it's a great feature. Thanks for your consideration
Fast tracking this feature would be extremely beneficial. Private channel recording especially in education would be helpful.
Nous organisons plusieurs formations en parallèle sur des canaux et l'enregistrement des séances est important pour nous.
The ability to record private meetings is essential in education, for three reasons:
1. Child protection / duty of care
2. Safeguarding for the teacher
3. Keeping a record of issues and actions that were discussed, for auditing purposes

Yes I worry if in a private discussion with a student. thanks
The absence of this feature is a major safeguarding concern for most schools
This feature would help considerably with safeguarding.
We are using teams in our University and found that recording option isn't available in private channel. Need it ASAP.
Waiting for a prompt solution to this. Coronavirus pandemic, our school using private channels to make our students lives easier in Teams, not having the recording feature is a safeguarding issue. Please implement as soon as possible.

I was surprised to find that I could not record a meeting using a channel within a GROUP that was limited to just one student and myself.
It would have been most helpful to have had the ability to record the session.
This is a massive Safeguard concern for staff if the meeting cannot be recorded. Can this please be implemented asap. It will be a game-changer for small group discussions and even 1:1 teaching. It gives the teacher reassurance that there is a recording of the meeting.
Private channels are a great tool in education for teachers to work 1 on 1 or with small groups. However if they want to do a video call they cannot record the video. This facility is important from a child safety point of view - the teacher has the ability to show what was said to the child during the call.

The same here! Problem in addition is that a youtube started from a youtube link in a powerpoint cannot be viewed by a student (starting and playing on the teachers dashboard). And when the teacher shares the youtube by sharing hus dashboard, the sound cannot be heard, because system audio cannot be checked in (option only when there is an recording option).
To help us track the feature request clearly, we decided to keep two asks separately for now. This one is about recording meetings in private channels. The other one is about hosting a channel meeting in private channel. Thanks,

This is essential in education use of teams - we have child protection issues we need to be able to record all meetings, we need to put kids in private teams otherwise they mess about in other groups, but then we lose the ability to schedule meetings and record them!
