Add the functionality of "Take a Test" app into Teams by using Office 365 account. You can use Office 365 login to create a profile on the machine that only allows single application to run. The teacher could then assign a test to a class and would allow for student monitoring by the teacher thru the Office 365 connection.754 votes
Thanks everyone for your feedback on this. As more educators look for ways to create secure assessments (especially remotely) this is one of the options we are investigating.
Almost all schools require the ability to download assignments and upload them to district-systems, print a batch of assignments, provide them to external audits etc.
The functionality is already there (navigate to the correct document library and then click 'download').
Simply add the UI option for a teacher to do this without knowledge of SharePoint libraries.
Surely this wouldn't require too much engineering to make it happen?753 votes
It should be possible to assign Assignments to specific channel(s). Now, each Assignment is posted in the general channel.738 votes
Thank you to this amazing community for your feedback.
Now in Teams Assignments, you can choose the channel where you’d like notifications for this assignment to post. This allows you to keep student work and discussion organized by unit, topic, or subject.
Need to put assignments into pupil's Outlook calendar so that they can share a read only link with parents. This would enable parents to see all upcoming assignments for their child, i.e. a parent view of assignments.
Alternatively, give parents a code linked to their child's account that will allow them to see selective team content including all assignment details. Teachers should be able to select whether parents can see everything, particular channels, or just assignments.730 votes
We want to use a Team for our whole school to submit responses to different optional challenge activities. We have over 1000 students in our middle school, and have created a team with all the students loaded. However, when we try to create Assignments in this team, we see a message that Assignment functionality is not available in Teams with more than 200 members. This means we can't use Teams for this purpose (gathering artifacts of various kinds from students across our school).724 votes
We have now updated this limit to 300 for all classes

I’m very happy to announce that the Class Materials folder is now available on iOS and Android devices! Go to the Microsoft Teams app to now see the Class Materials folder.

This feature request is being reviewed by the feature team. No new details to share at this time.
Meanwhile, feel free to share why you need this in class teams / staff teams, and what you need to see (ie # read / list of users read / timestamp of read) and for what purpose.

Some classes have multiple teachers (ex: IC settings) therefore a team can have multiple teachers assigned to the course. Currently there is only one organizer AKA one person who can start the meeting and now only one person who can implement and monitor breakout rooms. It would be fantastic to have anyone identified as a "presenter" have the ability to create/monitor breakout rooms. I know there is already a vote for multiple presenters so I guess this has two requests in one?580 votes
Thank you for your feedback! The team is currently working on extending the management of Breakout Rooms to specific presenters. We will share an update as soon as one is available.

I am not sure if this is a bug or not but we are using Microsoft Teams educational licenses. We want to use the Teams for our internal staff departments first. For some reason the setup of teams includes extra educational features like it force creates a OneNote tab called "Staff Notebook" in the General channel of each team. the OneNote includes a lot of classroom type customization that we do not want/need. Our departments have their own OneNotes. I cannot delete Staff Notebook tab or even rename it. I can add and delete other OneNotes but we want a clean set of tabs. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting rid of this? Thanks.

Hi everyone! If you do not want to use the OneNote Staff Notebook or any of the other default tabs across the various team types, we suggest creating an ‘Anyone’ team instead.
The ‘Anyone’ team will not include any add-ons by default and gives you the flexibility to use Teams however you would like. We understand that there are so many other ways you can use Teams that does not fit the Class/PLC/Staff team template. So ‘Anyone’ will be your best option!

much like whatsapp where you can reply to a specific message and that particular message will be quoted alongside the reply. Also the function to reply privately to a message sent in a group setting would be helpful564 votes
Thank you for your continued feedback. As many have pointed out, this is available on mobile today. Support for replying to a specific message is on the backlog for desktop. We will share an update as soon as one is available.
Note: This is tracked as a top request in the public forum as well – you can follow status here if interested: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/39353152.
I love the 'mute all' option, but working with young kids, it is sometimes difficult for them to find the unmute button. It would be helpful as a teacher to be able to unmute a student.556 votes

Sustained sound gets cancelled out as a background sound. Extended ranges of our instruments also gets cancelled out. Music teachers need these sounds, so we need an option to disable the microphone's normal settings that are written to focus the on the speaking voice.548 votes
Add the possibility to add a editable PDF as ressource of a assignment AND o be able to edit a PDF file (editable pdf form) Now only MS documents such as Word, Excel etc. are editable by students. Editable PDF forms can't be changed by students. Words522 votes
Teachers are assigning work for students to complete. But students are handing in assignments with no work or blank work.
Can the Hand-In button be disabled if students have not uploaded anything or added to the resources they have been provided.
Part of schools working remotely is trying to keep a track of which students are not completing work. Then calling parents to discuss this. Making it so that students can hand in an assignment without having done anything makes checking very difficult.511 votes
It would be very helpful to have an 'observer' or 'manager' role. We are a school and heads of subject or departments want to be shared owners of several classes, but do not want to be active teachers. (I could imaging in the business world, a department manager may want such an 'observer' role too.) If someone is an observer/manager/moderator, they would be able to easily control the number of notifications they get to reduce the amount of noise these can create when you belong to a lot of different teams. As they belong to a large number of teams, they do not want to have to do this on a team-by-team and channel-by-channel basis. Thanks.

block calls between students but allow teachers to call students and students to call teachers within an allotted time of day
There is a feature to block students from calling but this disables them from calling the teacher. They need to be able to call the teacher as well as the teacher to call them. There also needs to be a guideline time in place so that students could not call teachers at 3am. So restricting calls between the hours of 8am-8pm for example. Not that the teacher is required to pick up all of those hours but the would prohibit the student from times outside of the window.499 votes
To keep students from calling each other while allowing communication between educator and student, we recommend that schools disable student calling via admin policy and utilize the Meet Now feature in the Calendar to connect with students.
If IT policy blocks students from using Meet Now, try enabling Supervised Chat in your institution so students can reach out the their educators over chat first to ask for assistance. Once the connection is made between educators and students over chat, then the educator can start a Meet Now as suggested above. Don’t forget to adjust the meeting options to ensure that the meeting can’t be used for unattended meetings after your conversation is done.

Could there be a feature where teachers can pre-assign (before the class starts) students to groups based on the invited attendees list. Currently, you have to wait for students to enter the main meeting and then assign each one to a room or randomly assign, which can be challenging when implementing roles or differentiation activities.491 votes
Thank you for your feedback! The team is currently working on introducing the capability for the meeting organizer to perform breakout room configurations and participant assignments prior to the start of the meeting. We will share an update as soon as one is available.
