assignment tab
On the top tabs, I'd like the ability to change the order of the 4 tabs: conversations, files, class notebook, and assignments. I'd like students to see "Assignments" first instead of seeing all the mess of "Conversations" when they first click on our team.

Student reminder when work is overdue
When a student's work is overdue it would be handy to set them automated daily/ weekly reminders to complete this work.

I am in desperate need of more available Space in the feedback Box in the assignments.

links to assignments
A link to the assignment so that when students say they don't know how to submit their work you can just send them a link.

Have an area where teachers can share and create assignments
It would be great if the teacher had an area that they could just create all of their assignments and not distribute them. It means that teachers could share this space and they could create all of their shared assignments for the year. This would mean that they could then just assign them when and where they want. I have actually had to create a team that my colleagues share ownership of and we make assignments in there but this is a bit difficult. A tab, possibly a bit like the planner app, where you could create them would be…

Change students assigned to an assignment
It would be nice to change specific students who are assigned to an assignment after it has been created. There are several times that I would like to unassign for students who have completed, but keep students that were absent assigned to allow them to turn in at a later date.

It would be nice if the student have more upload capacity in the assigments
For most assignments, the upload capacity for a student in assignments is sufficient with 100MB.
However, for some assignments this is too limited.
It would be nice to increase this upload capacity like this for teachers.94 votes -
Deliver a task as a group, both possible for students and teachers
Hey, I'm a teacher that often use groups to work with different task. They fill out the same documents, but in teams they have to deliver individually. i miss the option of delivering tasks as a group. I want both students to be able to select the group (if a teacher has activated it) and the teacher to deliver and grade the tasks as a group.

Ability to remove the assignment tab
We would like to remove the Assignments Tab from Microsoft Teams so that our more gung ho users do not try and utilize this portion of the tool until it can be properly supported through IT and the departments that would be training end users. If the end user does not see it, they will not know it is even an option so there will be no need to field calls or questions.
94 votesIf you’re not planning on using the class functionality in Teams, O365 IT Admins can remove the Assignments app in the Teams Admin Center under Teams apps > ‘Permission policies’.
You can set a user policy (remove it for a set of users) or a global one that removes the Assignments app for everyone in your tenant.
Before you do this, make sure to double check if any faculty are using Assignments. We’ve seen Assignments be used in all sorts of ways successfully, even without students. You can always add back Assignments by removing the policy.

See all the assignments for an individual student across multiple teams.
I wish for a teacher to be able to see all the assignments for an individual student across multiple teams. This would be especially useful to a form tutor (US: home-room tutor?) or pastoral lead (US: counsellor?). Ability to filter by date range would make the number of assignments visible at any one time manageable. This would allow a tutor to monitor a student's overall workload and see their progress.

Remove certain students from assignment after the assignment is assigned
I would like to be able to assign an assignment to the whole team but then remove certain students from the assignment afterwards. Instead of handpicking 30 students to the assignment I would like to add the assignment to the whole class (32) and remove the 2 that are not supposed to get the assignment.

PDF files in Assignments
The types of files that can be viewed in assignments is very limiting. Many times my students are submitting assignments in PDF format and I then have to download every assignment individually to view it and grade it. It would be much simpler if Assignments could preview PDFs.

Create a peer review space in assignments, which can be distributed both with names or anonymously. Also, have a built in plagiarism check.
Create a peer review space in assignments, which can be distributed both with names or anonymously. Also, have a built in plagiarism check for students and teachers to be able to see upon submission of work. This would allow for quick peer marking with highlighting and comments using the 'edit in teams' facility, reducing the need to download and re-upload.

Add a member to an already set assignment
To use this as a school it really needs to have an option to add members to assignments after the assignment has been set. Currently if I have a new student added to the class then I have to delete the assignment and then send it out again.
81 votesWhen new students get added to a Class team, students will get all the assignments that have been assigned to the class.
Note: it may take several minutes for the assignments to distribute to the newly added student(s).

Allow Teachers to changing assignment status.
Make it so Teachers can change the students assignment status. Student marks assignment as Turned In, but it has not actually been Turned In. Give us the ability to change that instead of the student.

Assignment Feedback
It would be great if teachers could offer feedback to assignments without having to enter a grade. The assignments is locked from being able to resubmit. If students can get the feedback, make corrections, and then resubmit the assignment teachers would be able to use it better.
78 votesYou can add feedback to assignments at any time. Students can unsubmit, work on the assignment some more, and turn in their work again as long as the Assignment’s ‘Close date’ has not passed.

Changes to Assignments in Teams
- Assignment Locking:
- Currently in Teams for Education a student can submit an assignment for review.
-If for example the assignment included a Word document, the student is able to open the document in Word Online in Teams and view the teacher adding comments and changes to the document LIVE.
-Because of this the student is able to pull back and make changes to the assignment before the teacher is able to return the assignment to the student. - Teachers should be able to lock an assignment once it is turned it by a student before the due date, or enable a…

assignment notification turn on/off
The ability to turn ASSIGNMENT NOTIFCATIONS off. The ability to also customize whether or not Assignment Postings automatically get posted to your classroom homepage -- Give us flexibility to tell MS Teams where we want all the Assignment "messages" or Postings to notify our students at. When it happens within the main chat, it is so HARD to find what the teacher/student posted to the main thread when you are fishing through "assignment posted" notifications everywhere.

Assignments - Printing Comments and Feedback (for EV purposes)
Ability to print feedback view of an assignment with:
The assignment itself
Comments within the assignment
Summative feedback comment at the end
This would be great for when people need to print off work for external verifiers.
