For the educational platform, the educator should have more control over the private chat between students.
-Teachers should be able to see private chats between students
-Teachers should be able to turn off the student:student chats, and only allow chats where teacher is a member.
-Teachers should be able to not allow students to chat between classes.
I completely agree with giving more control to educators in regards to monitoring their students. This business platform was designed for use by businesses who employ educated adults, not children who are still learning the social rules with interacting with peers. The risk of cyberbullying and inappropriate behavior occurring is extremely high with a platform that does not allow educators to monitor or curtail this behavior. Yes, students should be allowed to collaborate, but under the guidance of an educated adult. Within the first week of online learning, I am dealing with issues in regards to inappropriate behavior. I sincerely hope Microsoft plans to resolve this issue quickly, otherwise I do not see myself recommending or using this platform for future use.
hi! greetings teacher from another country... i am a student from india who uses teams reqularly. contrary to ur last point, i think it is crucial to chat between classes as in a case of a technical malfunction or intenet glitch, the teacher can be informed IMMEDIATELY.
