improve pop out chat
I'm glad I have a pop out chat option now! But it's terribly implemented. Any time I have to leave what I am working on to go chat (or to go POP OUT a chat) is a hassle.
Improvements:
1) Ability to pop out the entire chat function. All of the chats, one window (or pop out of that window), separate from the teams app. Then you don't need a whole bunch of pop out chat windows.
2) Pop out from banner notification. If I get a chat notification I want to be able to pop it out from the notification.

Totally agreed with this and the comments below - if Teams is replacing Skype, we should have the ability to pop the whole chat out in a Skype-style window. It's infuriating having to stop whatever I'm doing elsewhere in Teams, just because I got a new chat...

when initiating chat off of an email, it just opens a pop-out.. and never loads.. it is so so frustrating. overall this feature is frustrating and counterproductive. Why would you additionally require pop-outs FROM individual list on the left?

Pop-out windows ignore the Teams policies. We have edit/delete disabled, but in a Pop-Out, edit is enabled and we can't turn it off.

I agree with prevoius comments. The GUI has to be improved. It has, at least, to inherit the same look as the main Teams window. I find out that although you set a 'compact' view for the main window, after aplying zoom on it (ctrl-+/ctrl--), the pop-out chat has a fix -large- zoom. In addition, the pop-up window cannot be resized freely; there is a 'minimum' size, and you cannot reduce beyond it (for me it takes +1/4 of the whole screen)

It would be great if you can also call from the pop out chat as is a little annoying having to go back to Teams to find the conversation to call somebody

- Not a compact chat.
- Cannot zoom the pop-out chat window.
- Zoom does not increase density.
- Does not address the other "and more" use cases, e.g. popping out a team, a wiki page, etc. -

I note that the original ticket was "Pop-out windows for chats *and more*".
This is a pattern I have seem here on UserVoice - close a half-implemented ticket, dump all the votes in a bin, stop people feeding back on it immediately, and fragment the feedback among several small, low-priority threads.

We need a Skype style pop-out / flashing chat that captures your attention when someone is sending you a Teams text message. It is expected that a text (chat) message has some urgency where you need to be alerted.
If it's not urgent, people can add comments in a Teams channel or by email.
Thanks.

Agreed, if we are going to replace Skype it needs to be able to be a pop out entirely like Skype. This will also allow the use of Teams on one screen and the entire chat list on another, versus one individual chat pop out. Also agree the multiple individual pop out chats is cumbersome, having it integrated as OP suggests is preferred (like Skype)

Agreed, we really need skype style 'tabbed' chat messages and the ability to simply pop out the chat function into a separate window would achieve this much needed feature. It would also be nice to be able to 'dock' chat window on the side of your desktop.

I completely agree with the N°2, it's a bad UX to have to click on the notification, and go back to the Teams main view to have the "Pop out chat"

Indeed the banner notification to a "popped-out" chat SHOULD bring to the pop-out window, NOT the main Teams desktop !! Please fix
