Assignments hand-in no work or blank work
Teachers are assigning work for students to complete. But students are handing in assignments with no work or blank work.
Can the Hand-In button be disabled if students have not uploaded anything or added to the resources they have been provided.
Part of schools working remotely is trying to keep a track of which students are not completing work. Then calling parents to discuss this. Making it so that students can hand in an assignment without having done anything makes checking very difficult.

We must be able to reverse a student's handed in status if they haven't actually handed anything in. The lack of this feature is causing problems - teachers creating double entries and extra work chasing students - students have convenient "I can't see the assignment anymore" excuses and forget it still needs to be done - parents are in the dark when one of the most promising features is that parents should be better informed.

We have found issues with kids completing work (staff have seen the work completed in a hub) but when the staff member checks the assignment 'turned in' it is blank. Any ideas what the issue is here?

Some pupils handing in an assignment without attaching work. If you look at the grades tab it shows that they have completed the work even though they have not. As above, could it be possible to disengage the hand in button if work is not attached?

Assignments disappear from a students list if they return anything even if it is empty. I am working in a hub currently working with the Key Worker children. I find it impossible to see what work they have handed in. It would be good if this doesn't happen, Could a simple a flag system (red/yellow/green), or thumbs up/down that is linked to every assignment. Students/parents would then see that and know if there is an issue they need to attend to.I would also then be able to tell if they have actually turned in work.

It would be great if there was a way to 'unhand in' the work to pupils. This would allow us to see who has done what by looking at the class as a whole.

It is very difficult to back track and take care of students who think they turned something in. We need to be accurate and this detail will help immensely

Agree or a reject button as other have suggested.

An option to send back as incomplete would be perfect, if it could reappear in the unmarked section that would make record keeping much easier.

Perhaps there could be a facility where teachers could "reject" blank or insufficient assignments returning them directly to the student? At the moment I am writing a comment in the feedback box saying incomplete but the work still gets marked as complete meaning I have to keep a separate paper register of incomplete or insufficient work.

The basics of a mantory field entry to allow the submit button to be used. Essential for use in school

I simply request students to do the work on notebook paper, take a clear picture and then hand in that picture.
Much better than all of the failures i had with different homework apps and plugins
Better for the students, they focus on the work instead of zoning out to 'it is a screen and text chat - video or game time'
I teach via interactive lessons and do not drop yet another video on the subject to the kids.

This is a poor idea. I frequently set assignments that need to be completed in other platforms. By handing in pupils are confirming they've done it.

Either do not allow unchanged or blank handin and also return to their to do list of incomplete assignments would be so helpful. Otherwise you need to duplicate record keeping

A quick 'bat back' option would be fab please/

Yes this is a very important point. Also, for future consideration can we look at a way to discourage plagiarism?

Please, please disable the hand in button function to students if they don't submit work.

That would be great as well as options in the grades to display that a blank/incomplete assignment was handed in, so it’s easier to keep track.

Being able to change the status to PASSED or COMPLETED so you know which pieces of work don’t need rechecking. This would be a massive time saver, especially for passing coursework tasks.
