It would be helpful to have recorded meetings transcribed for future use to make them accessible to users with disabilities.
After a meeting is recorded, it would be helpful to have a transcription of the recording for users who have hearing issues. Teams meetings are often used for later training, and access is limited for those who might be hard of hearing.
Thank you everyone for the feedback. Please follow this item in our Public UserVoice forum for detailed updates: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103/suggestions/35694823
We used to save Teams recordings to Stream, and the recordings did have transcripts and Closed Captions (CC). Per https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/MicrosoftTeams/tmr-meeting-recording-change, after changing meeting recordings to save to OneDrive instead of Stream, there are some limitations including transcripts and CC will only be in English and won't be able to edit or search transcripts. To me that implies that there would be English transcripts and CC but wouldn't be able to edit or search the transcripts. We switched to saving recordings to OneDrive and found that transcripts and CC are not available. It's very annoying that documentation doesn't match what is released. I don't want to communicate to all our staff that we are changing the setting back to save to Stream instead, but we may have to since transcripts and CC are required. Please add the transcript and CC functions to recordings saved to OneDrive.
This would be immensely useful for our organisation.
