ALLOW Chat/Calls on Teams between the Teacher (Owner) and students (members) while RESTRICTING between students
Be able to set user/group POLICY for CHAT with OPTIONS:
• ALLOW students (TEAM MEMBERS) to CALL teachers (TEAM OWNERS)
• RESTRICT students (TEAM MEMBERS) from calling other students (TEAM MEMBERS)
• ALLOW teachers (TEAM OWNERS) to CALL students (TEAM MEMBERS)
• ALLOW students (TEAM MEMBERS) to CHAT with teachers (TEAM OWNERS)
• RESTRICT students (TEAM MEMBERS) from CHAT with other students (TEAM MEMBERS)
• ALLOW teachers (TEAM OWNERS) to CHAT with students (TEAM MEMBERS)
These are all great! HOSTS also need the privilege of allowing students access to the annotation tools that have sadly been deactivated.
For the MATH Tutoring TEAM I need students to communicate with each other
SO i have a Question:
Will this Restrictions AFFECT all TERRA created teams or just the academic classes?

If we don't have this yet I would like to be able to send on chat a message to an entire period instead of having to search for all the students one by one. So if this feature is not there, then I would like to add it. However, I think you are just asking for "wording" changes? Anyway just wanted you to know.
Would this be a permanent restriction?
this will help with individualizing instruction and to maintain communication between students and teachers. Students may need additional help and guidance that they would not ask for in a whole group Teams discussion,
We have restricted students from enabling video or using chat with messaging and meeting policies - we do not want students chatting to/calling each other in Teams. Generally, we do not want students to be able to enable their video within meetings, as a safeguarding measure for both the students and the teachers delivering the meeting.
There are however times when it would be beneficial to allow students to chat with teachers and for teachers to conduct calls with students, with both having video enabled.
The current policy approach prevents both of these from happening currently; could there be some kind of granularity to allow this to happen?
There may also be occasions when a teacher may want to allow students to enable video during a meeting - although I appreciate this is quite a different feature request to the rest of this post as this refers more to app functionality rather than policy.
