Again! Students can NOT learn without enjoyment. Taking this ability away would make students have no learning experience and ultimately fail. Students should be able to DM each other with the teacher monitoring the DMs. It's unnesesary for you to rob students of their enjoyment.

Doing this would definitely rob student of their right to express and discuss with each other entity. Only by this way students can get to new ideas. Communication only between teachers and student but not in-between students can only lead to learning by heart but not actual learning. So, this action should not be implemented if this app was developed with education in mind

Also, give the admin the ability to allow a staff license the ability to initiate a call but disallow it for the student license, even to the owners. i.e. One more line: RESTRICT students (TEAM MEMBERS) to CALL teachers (TEAM OWNERS)

It is a huge liability issue to not have these configurations. Students need to have access to their teachers when learning remotely, so we cannot disable the chat feature. However, students being able to create chats/meetings with other students without teacher supervision is a risk that no school should have to take. If this configuration can not be adjusted soon I don't see how we can continue to use Teams with our students.

Voted..
As a workaround, Teachers can arrange meetings with students for one-on-0one (or more) sessions. Students would just need to request this in the teams chat, then staff can arrange a meeting and add attendees as desired.

It is vital that this feature is built in to messaging permissions for Education.
I am amazed that it isn't already available, it causes a huge problem for educators.

Vital for teaching in lock down - otherwise we have to message students in other apps (e.g. email)

This is really needed for schools. Its should not be about owner/member, it should be about group or licence or some other way to differentiate staff and students.
We need to be able to allow chat between students and staff, but not student to student.
This has nothing to do with channel messages, they can be moderated as they are not private.

Yes please! I need to be able to chat/call my students using teams, but I do not want my students to inter-student chat on teams. They have MANY other platforms for that.

This is a much needed update. Teachers need to have the ability to turn chatting off in their Teams if they do not want to use it. Especially between students. Please make this happen soon.

I’d like the students to be able to share their screen with me as well. Teaching Web Design and Programming make it almost impossible to help debug programs without being snore to see them live.

We have been racking our brains trying to figure out how to do this, between Teams admin policies and information barriers just no luck getting the desired outcome...it would be absolutely beneficial to our teachers and students to have this restriction in place. Currently we have to keep private chat disabled for students because they have chats and video calls amongst themselves without a teacher present.

I strongly agree and I also believe that schools need some simple policy's templates. As you said, an environment where a student can chat with teachers but can't talk to other students, or create chat groups, or meetings, would be very useful for many schools, for example.

This is mostly for kids in difficulty. Having a way to text and call only teacher to student without having to enable chatting so students can private chat each other would be amazing. The student can learn more easily like this.

These are all great! HOSTS also need the privilege of allowing students access to the annotation tools that have sadly been deactivated.
