Assignment 'feedback' should go to 'chat' too.
We're all trying to 'close the feedback loop'. All assignment feedback should go directly to the 'chat' between teacher and student to continue the discussion in a single centralized place.
Might be helpful if in the assignments to the right it showed the feedback, on the same line as the assignment name, points, etc. Maybe it could be done as a task where the student has to check it or something.
Experiencing similar issues with students and parents not being able to close the feedback loop.
I am marking work and giving comments and using Rubrics occassionally too.
If a student doesn't revisit the assignment this is lost. I know they can link it through the Activity area - but that is only if they visit this.
Could we have within assignments area: Overdue, Completed, Returned by Teacher, Closed. Students could then see at a glance (and parents) what needed further attention.
Linking into a previous suggestion about the change to the 'Assignments' area. This could be in a table so you can see Team: No. of assignments overdue, Number due, number marked, number that need reviewing.
Students then need to click a further button to say they have read the feedback - or have the opportunity to respond via text in the assignment if they are handing it back in again.

Completely agree with the other comments. Students need to be able to have easier access to seeing feedback. Our students know ALL about the Chat feature - getting a Chat message with the Assignment feedback would be so much easier and would allow students to see when work needs correcting.

Please. Has to be simpler for students to get direct feedback. Especially in this distance learning age.
I agree... feedback between student and teacher should go directly to the chat with the student please.

Adding onto what Creft said, it would also make it easier for the student that is given feedback to improve upon their work before the due date.
We are thinking the same thing in our district. We would love it if the automated message from assignments also included the teacher entered Feedback. The students get the alert that the assignment has been graded or posted but if said student doesn't click on the assignment they are un aware of the feedback provided. Just thinking it would help streamline the communication process.
