block calls between students but allow teachers to call students and students to call teachers within an allotted time of day
There is a feature to block students from calling but this disables them from calling the teacher. They need to be able to call the teacher as well as the teacher to call them. There also needs to be a guideline time in place so that students could not call teachers at 3am. So restricting calls between the hours of 8am-8pm for example. Not that the teacher is required to pick up all of those hours but the would prohibit the student from times outside of the window.

You do realize that if a kid is calling an other they can just not answer if it isn't their friend. If the bully can't call him on teams he will call him on facebook.

I agree that removing the abilty to call or chat other students is against the whole idea of Teams. But in a primary/secondary school scenario where collaborating on school work is done much less and the risks on cyber bullying are much higher, I believe adding this functionality is very important.
At the same time teachers should be able to contact the students and be contacted by students via chat and voice at all times. So blocking should only occur between students.

I think the teacher idea is amazing but why to block calls between student .... it might be because of class work or something related to study...it is really important to be able to communicate with other children

Removing the ability for students to call cripples another social factor of this app. Students will be less likely to use and check it often.
If teachers don't to get calls, teach the kids not to call you. Or put in a setting for teachers to set their own "office hour" times for calls.

This would be a wonderful feature in today's educational climate. We need more control with middle school and elementary students.

Yes, I think this is important. It would be nice if student users can be treated as a category or group, and communication is limited out of hours.

Really not sure why you don't want students to chat to their peers. It's really important.

Please activate this as soon as possible. In this time of COVID-19, when we as teachers have to do so much more, please help make our lives just a little bit easier.

I think it is crucial to have it so that students can call teachers during acceptable hours. But at the same time, students shouldn't be able to start a call or meeting with peers without a teacher present. This could lead to several issues within our virtual classroom.

I would like this Microsoft Teams UserVoice to keep the lines of communication open between student and teacher. I would like the hours set between 8:00 a.m.- 7:00p.m.

Teachers and students need to be able to use this feature to communicate with each other. Students do not need to use this to call each other. This is the only problem I am having. Parents are complaining because their child is receiving calls from other students multiple times through out the day. Parents are answering telling the caller to stop and the student is continuing anyhow. At this point the parent has not power to make it stop other than to call the teacher or school and file a complaint. If there was a way to block student to student calls that would be great!

Teachers need this feature in order to tutor individually, and students need it in order to request help as appropriate. This feature should be active only within a definite time block. For many schools, the day begins at 7 a.m. If the school provides online tutoring in place of after-school programs, there is a need to allow this feature until 7 or 8 pm.

I think this would be a good idea. I have had teachers say something about this and also have had some to complain about students chatting buttttt. I think an appropriate time line for blocked calls would be 8am to 5p.m.

Many teachers do not have access to school telephones during the day without going out of their rooms -- if they even have a room to leave. We are under tight quarters right now with limited access to the resources we need to be successful teachers. Being able to use Teams for audio meetings would be a blessing. Thank you.
