Unmuting a student
I love the 'mute all' option, but working with young kids, it is sometimes difficult for them to find the unmute button. It would be helpful as a teacher to be able to unmute a student.
I am using Teams with Kindergarten students. Sometimes I have to mute the class as there are distracting behaviors/noise happening. However, some of my students do not know how to unmute themselves. It would be great to have the capability to unmute attendees from the organizer's side.
yes totally agree and really needed. it's still not being worked in after a month and it's really long overdue. if it's an invasion of privacy then perhaps there could be an option on the attendee's end to disable unmute so only older students would be able to set it and younger ones will have their teachers helping to unmute them.
Disagree... this would be a massive invasion of privacy, if you could turn on anyone's mic at any time without notice. I know I wouldn't want someone else having control over my microphone through this platform.
If a student doesn't know how to use the program, they should be taught to do so. The unmute button isn't hard to find if you spend a few seconds looking at the app and reading the options.
Yes we need the ability to mute AND unmute participants. Skype for business already has this feature - can’t teams have it too!
I agree. I understand in a business setting not wanting a presenter to be able to override a participant who has muted themselves intentionally, however in a classroom setting, it is often necessary for a teacher to mute their class while they "present" content, but then may need to unmute a student in order for them to talk. Depending on age of the students, this is not always such a simple task
