Channel meet now - allow meeting options for to control who joins the meeting as presenter or attendee
At the moment our teachers are using the Meet Now feature for their remote lessons. However that does give the students a lot of power over the meeting, as everyone becomes a presenter.
The presenter role can be restricted for a scheduled meeting, and we are looking at building this into the teachers process of running a lesson, but this isn't always possible.
It would be nice to restrict the Presenter role to just Owners from the Team level, and apply that tot all meetings run from that Team.
Or, have an additional policy setting for Presenters in the Teams admin so we can set that against Students.

We are happy to announce that we have accelerated this feature to provide the ability for ‘Meet now’ meetings to have access to Meeting options in order to update presenter/attendee controls.

As I think most people are already aware, when you use the 'Meet' now option at the bottom of a Team channel, it creates an ad-hoc meeting room. The problem with this method is everyone who joins that meeting is a presenter. That is creates an obvious problem if you have a class of 25 year 8 students.

Yes, this is currently creating a lot of chaos!
There needs to be a global option for restricting "presenter" to the organizer of a meeting out of the gate.

Agree with you 100%. We need a school-wide policy that makes students automatically join as attendees and not as presenters, when teachers start a Meet Now
