Add a global admin setting for the default role of meeting attendee
If you want to make meeting attendees Participants by default (so that they can't present, mute you and remove from a meeting), then you have to manually change meeting options of a particular meeting and set "Who can present?". Today this option can't be set globally by default in Teams admin center. Please add this feature.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re happy to announce the ability for admins to change the default value of ‘Who can present?’ in Meeting Options in the Teams client via the new parameter, DesignatedPresenterRoleMode.

Please please please release soon. I love the fact you release the "Who can present?" in the meeting options. Just no one thinks to go there to update their presenters lists or change it to "Only me" on every meeting.
Negative issues happen when the default is everyone in the company are presenters and you have large group meetings.

I totally agree, that this option is absolute necessary, but not only for the "Who can present" Meeting option. It must be possible, that there a setting in the policy, that students are set as "muted attendees" by default AND that they can't unmute themselves. Please align this feature with the already announced new feature "raise hand", so that a student can only unmute itself, if the teacher (organizer of the meeting) of has permitted the student to speak.
Thank you very much. :-)

Totally agree that we need this feature. I have had to grapple with unknown students frequently muting my mic in a couple of classes causing me to break off for a few minutes in order to set all students to "attendee"..
Yes, this function is absolutely needed. We cannot have students muting teachers or removing them from a meeting.
I agree with the comments below - this is a MUST HAVE for teaching high school students online. Having students with the ability to mute their teachers is unacceptable, and teachers can not change every student to attendee every time!
Also really need this asap. ATM by default anonymous guests have share screen rights, you have to promote them to an attendee to get any sort of control.
This should be added at the earliest, must have option. Thanks
Hopefully it is fast, half the world is doing online classes and from an EDU admin point of view this need to be implemented ASAP.
I want this feature asap! How was this not even considered in the first place?? It is important, how else do I conduct my lessons properly without always being interrupted?

Schools should be able to set the safest option to be the default.
To the other posters:
You can make every user an attendee by default BUT you need to remember to do it for every meeting. This post is about allowing organisations to set the default.
If you forget, you can right click on a user's names and click 'Make Attendee'
This should be a top priority feature!
This is a must have feature due to recent security concerns.
Please solve this problem. Thank you
Students pretending like our boses. Please solve this problem for schools. Thank you

Without this option it is almost impossible to use Teams for meetings in sensible cases.
This option would be very helpful indeed (also for 'meet now') - it would make life a lot easier for our teachers. Thanks

Please make this feature a default setting. As a teacher, it would be a great thing because we work with students that don't respect the basics sometimes during a meeting. Thanks
Please make this feature a default setting. TEAMS organizer should be by default the presenter. Presenter can add/reject attendees, can mute/un-mute attendees, and can share screens. By default the attendees can only listen and view the content presented.

Great idea! Additional option - lobby for all participant sound like perfect e-school

Please make this available. End users will not make all other participants attendees for every meeting. This is a huge security flaw. Any user can boot, mute or admit any other user except for the organizer by default.
