Prevent attendees inviting users within an in progress meeting
Currently, attendees are able to use the participants pane in an ongoing meeting to invite users to the meeting. In an education setting, this means disruptive/cheeky students are able to abuse the invite option to call anybody within the school.. There's absolutely no reason in an educational setting for students to be able to invite anybody they like to a live lesson (meeting) - we make them attendees for a reason!

There are two methods to block students from inviting users to an ongoing meeting: 1) Disable Call Me and 2) Ensure all students are attendees.
Admins: This feature is controlled at the organizer level. To prevent students from using this feature in class meetings, turn this Audio Conferencing setting off for educators organizing class meetings: Dial-out from meetings: Off
Educators: Set Who can present to Only me to ensure that your students and other participants join as meeting attendees.

We require a setting that will give teachers the option on who decides may accept individuals entry to the meeting from the lobby. As it is once the teacher has opened the meeting and allowed a few in, these can allow all others. It would be great if this can also be decided upon by the teacher depending on the task at hand.

Waiting in the lobby is only a partial fix because the users still get added to the meeting chat even if they don't join the meeting.

we also need to disable this feature as the attendees can invite others and also they can invite (Teams Echo) to the meeting and they make the teacher think he is hacked because once you invite Teams Echo it will join automatically and be a presenter right away without any roles or policy

Students are inviting students from across our district, somehow an 11th grader was in a kindergarten classroom, I had a random ninth grader in mine. We have 27.000 students in our district and they ALL can invite each other. This is a SERIOUS problem.

We have recently experienced a not so good update of 'Teams Echo', as this is not advised to incorporate for the online classes as they student has found this a prank to distract the teacher and classrooms.
Teams Echo is a feature to test your calling quality, when you enable it, it will be like a recorder to record your talking and replay it for you. This option is available in the teams invite area and the students frequently use this option which hinters the whole call as a conversation is replayed. Technicality is good but not advisable for schools.
Note: attendees can also invite 'Teams Echo'. -

Today we had a virtual conference for over 120 members. We too had a problem with this with some employees inviting people to the conference that should not be invited. This needs to be an option that the organizer can turn off (disallow members to invite others to the channel, call, meeting or team)

Today we had students inviting others into the class and disrupting the whole lesson. It additionally caused a safehuarding issue. THis feature needs implementing, yesterday! Absolutely mind blowing that anyone in Microsoft thinks this feature is a good idea, obv never worked in education,

In addition, even if the teacher does not allow the invited student in from a lobby, the invited student still has access to participate in the Chat. Extremely disruptive.

Need an option for only host can invite. Have already had many close calls, embarrassing situations where an external participant was added without the group knowing. Regulating the lobby isn't sufficient for this. Inviting someone to the lobby without the host's permission puts the host in the bad position of having to choose to allow the uninvited person into the meeting, or purposely not allowing them in.

Has this been implemented yet, or any close to it? This is major issue for us, with students inviting other students from other grades and classes into their meeting within a class.

Hi,
The ability for students to invite others to Class Team video meetings is presenting us with significant safeguarding issues. We would not expect students to walk into whichever physical class they are assigned to and therefore do not expect them to be able to do so in their Virtual Classrooms.
Please fix this as soon as possible. Only the members of a Class Team (owners and members) should be able to attend at Class Meeting (lesson).

We should have an option to prevent not invited persons to attend the meeting. This should be set in Meeting Options as (Only Invited) then nobody will be able to join if not invited because it is difficult to know the emails and nicknames when accepting people in lobby
Thanks,

It is really useful to be able to call people in to meetings and bring them ni when planning or discussing teaching. It would best if the host could invite others rather than a blanket ban on inviting people. As a result it is really hard to be spontaneous.

This is very important. Disruptive students keep calling school leaders and other students during the meeting instead of focusing on the lesson. There should be a global setting to prevent attendees from inviting anyone during a meeting.

In a professional setting, this can lead to changes of agenda, derailed meetings, and leaks of intellectual property

Prevent attendees inviting users within an in progress meeting is essential. Please consider including this in next update.
