Prevent students from starting a meeting unattended
It would be very useful to be able to prevent students from starting a meeting unattended, regardless of what type of meetings it is.
This because, when working with younger students, the best option is that only teachers can start new meeting (with other teachers and/or with students).

adding Only Presenters can bypass option would be super helpful.

Adding the "Only Me" option for bypassing the lobby will be most helpful, now that all of our students have been given district "organizational" emails.

I am in the process of getting Teams meeting up and running for my academy. The all must enter via the lobby is a deal breaker for us. If it doesn’t appear soon we will have to adopt Zoom instead.

I agree. This function is vital. We should have " admit all in lobby" option if "students - wait in lobby" is enabled. Thank you.

Microsoft Teams should make video meetings in Microsoft Teams for Education an exclusive preserve of teachers to safe guard students misuse.

My dear Microsoft team,
why the time of your reaction to amend Teams is so slow?
With best regards,

Microsoft, you know you have been slacking. There is no reason Zoom can make so many updates and changes while your teams video app is still a year behind them.
A waiting room is a must
The ability to mute others and lock it so they can't unmute is essential.
Kicking others out of the room without the access to come back in for that day is needed.
These are basic, high priority, security features.
I have seen the addition of making it so no one else can take over the presenter spot; however, what's the point of being able to remove someone from the session if they can walk right back in. Raise hand feature is nice...but again pointless if a member can simply unmute themselves. A good amount of the population is impatient and will simply ignore a raise hand rule if there is a quick way around it.
Your solution for fixing the ability to re-enter a meeting was to add an end meeting button? Seriously, you KNOW anyone with that link can just re-enter, regardless of a meetings end.
Fix the basic and needed administrative tools that are needed in a teams meeting first..then worry about making a pretty background. Zoom is one message board away from being greater than Teams has been since it was created. At this point, just be glad they are not interested in that department. -

From an education safe-guarding issue, especially for younger children, this is very important feature that schools require.

Teams should have resolved this, being a Microsoft platform Teams must be ahead of the issue and not wait for complaints and votes. Be the leader and think on behalf of all your users. It is causing chaos in on the platform and resulting in a negative few from its users (especially those who are new to the platform). Teachers can not control all elements and thus resulting in learners missing out on education.

Yes! This happened to me with my Spanish class and several students joined the meeting that was created by a student, and they all missed my entire meeting! I didn't figure this out until after the meeting ended, as I was teaching the lesson, of course! Ay caramba, what a fiasco that was! :(

Critical function! I have spent two days trying to work out how to make this happen so disappointed it was not already a default

School districts have rigorous protocols related to the presence of adult supervision for students while attending the school. In the elementary and middle school level, the only place students can go without adult supervision is the washroom and just for a few minutes. A parent volunteer cannot work inside a classroom before he/she submit a criminal record check. Then, why are we providing the same students with the possibility of getting online unsupervised?
