Prevent students from starting a meeting unattended
It would be very useful to be able to prevent students from starting a meeting unattended, regardless of what type of meetings it is.
This because, when working with younger students, the best option is that only teachers can start new meeting (with other teachers and/or with students).

It is also possible for students to remain in the meeting room after the class has ended. There should be a way teachers can "close" a meeting and force out all participants. This is especially important for individuals with disabilities or ELL who may not understand how that a meeting is over. I think there should be a restricted time window that each class is open for... Maybe 10 minutes before the scheduled meeting it could open, or have the choice for participants to wait in a virtual lobby, and have the option for the meeting facilitator to "end" the meeting.

It looks like this is an option that can be set through the Set-CsTeamsMeetingPolicy cmdlet, but I haven't tested this yet.
Set-CsTeamsMeetingPolicy -Identity PolicyName -AutoAdmittedUsers OrganizerOnly
*Edit*
I can confirm that this allows the meeting organizer (the teacher, in this case) to be the only one to start the meeting...students are placed in the lobby and have to be admitted by the teacher.https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/skype/set-csteamsmeetingpolicy

They are joining in the class before teacher and calling that saying that teacher is not there in the class.

It is essential looking to the purpose of teaching. My vote is in favor of the feature that class must be initiated by the teacher who schedule it and subsequently the others join.

A student role is needed. This would take away the option of meet now from them as well as the option to mute other participants during a meeting. Why is there not a limited role for students in Teams?

I'm wondering how far away the return of this feature is. Message Center update notification that seems to be associated with this feature (roadmap ID 63355) shows "rolling out" to complete by mid August. In our current remote learning context, I'd love to know just how far (or close) this feature is from appearing...? Thanks.

Enabling by default for all meetings in a class in EDU should be the case. Then teacher's can disable on a per-meeting (easy if recurring)/per-class basis.

Thanks for the Update, it seems to work well. I can change the setting on a scheduled meeting to only allow me to enter the meeting and everyone else to go to lobby.
Will there be a way to set this as the default meeting join option in the Admin center?

Basically if this can be another meeting option so the organizer can customize it - that would be best. Evidently some people need this to be allowed, others need this to be disabled.
