Hard mute students audio in a meeting (so they cannot unmute themselves)
Teachers should be able to mute students voices in a way that they cannot dis activate. This could be used for lecture. Or to stop students interrupting on purpose.
We have launched the ability for a presenter to ‘hard mute’ attendees. This feature gives meeting organizers the ability to mute one to many meeting participants while removing the muted participants’ ability to unmute themselves.

Create a button to FORCEFULLY mute students. Students CAN'T unmute themselves until the teacher gives permission to do that
Totally agree with making them all mute till we finish speaking as presenters and option to mute and unmute to be with us.......Also, RAISE HAND with criticality levels can also be integrated......may be with a flash or pop up message with restricted word limit.
Is it possible to add a function of 'not allowing attendees to unmute themselves' to the meeting desktop?
As a host of a meeting I would very much appreciate if I could mute the participants and unmute them by myself.
To cut the long story short I would like block the attendees from speaking until I have finished with me speaking.
The same function would be very helpful for the meeting leaders during public and private channels.
Looking forward to hearing from you,

It would be nice to combine this with a "raise hand" feature.

This is must, for educators using Teams for live instruction. Children of all age, with little self control, can take over the meeting by constantly unmuting themselves and interrupting. Even with direct instructions NOT to do so, kids are kids. A simple hand raise feature to go with this, would be ideal.
Is it possible to add an option to "mute all attendees" in additional to just "mute all"? Also, have a policy not to allow attendees to unmute themselves
With the phenomenon of Zoom Bombing, or similar, organizations need to have total control for customer facing presentations/webinars, including the ability to put participants in listen-only mode (they are unable to mute).
A much needed option to keep teachers and students away from disturbances.

Dear MS Teams Engineering, kindly implement this much required feature as soon as possible due to only this feature's unavailability in MS Teams most of the education institutes and educators are using other tools like "ZOOM".

This is the missing link between a Teams meeting and a Live Event that is often overkill or perhaps not even an option due to licensing. We had these functions with Skype and would love to see true "feature parity" in the replacement platform.

Its the need of the hour. In all the webinars I am conducting on Teams this is the question I am
asked every time
Children should not be allowed to unmute or mute
Yes, this function should be added.
This would really work well and avoid unnecessary distractions during progress in the lesson
yes please add this function.

A feature where the student's name becomes highlighted to show they have a question or a comment to share would be great.

I would like the "hard mute" to apply to the Chat function. With the addition of the Raise Hand function that is being developed, these would be great together!
