Covid - 19

Covid-19
As a school we are trying to respond to the current and future impact that this virus is having on our daily operations. As we move closer to the examinations season, this situation could have a drastic impact on our young people’s future.
At the moment, we are making use of Teams and OneNote to teach pupils who are self-isolating because of recent travel. Dealing with small numbers of pupils’ needs is relatively simple, but what we might well see soon is enforced school closures. I can see that Teams and OneNote will allow us to make provision for all of our pupils, but it will be difficult to deal with pupils’ varied needs when we provide a service that is remote.
I know that our school will be able to set-up remote teaching sessions for our pupils to tap into and I imagine that some of these opportunities might also help other children in different schools. What I am envisaging is individual schools proposing Team based lessons for their pupils that offer pupils from other schools the chance to participate. We could divide the offer into GCSE or A Level by Board and subject. These lessons could be posted to a Teams calendar based on criteria such as the following example:
GCSE, English, AQA, Conflict Poetry, Ozymandias, Percy Shelley, Thursday, 5th March, 3:30 CET, 30mins.
Lesson delivery could be structured to ensure a familiar format.
Our pupils would be enrolled automatically and then other spaces could be distributed on a ‘first come first served’ basis. Pupils could review/filter a calendar of events and select subjects/topics that meet their specific needs and enrol.
Together we could create a vibrant and tailored teaching environment, designed to share our most valuable resource – teachers!
