Add paste image, text box, drag and drop, zoom in or out to the Whiteboard in Teams
The Whiteboard would be more useful with the ability to: 1) paste an image or anything onto the whiteboard. 2) insert a text box, 3) move what's on the whiteboard to a different area on the whiteboard, 4) zoom in or out

Thank you everyone for the feedback. To allow you to teach, collaborate, or brainstorm ideas in online class meetings, we are working on improving the Microsoft Whiteboard in Teams to include new features including sticky notes, pen and ink, and drag and drop capabilities. You can read more details here: https://aka.ms/TeamsVirtualLearningJul2020.

requests please. Could you add the ability to select a straight lines or squares format ? could you add the ability to snap text, equations and diagrams as Miro on whiteboard ? could you add sticky notes or capture document ? could you add more fonts ? could you add the ability to disable the student to write on whiteboard when the teacher doesnt require a student to solve a problem but then being able to enable it so a student can access it when requested?

Skype enterprise had all these features. We lost them when we migrated to Teams. Sad, we were using them a lot for incident management

following the idea of MIRO, why don't you integrate a mindmapping tool into Microsoft Whiteboard?

I would even suggest adding all the features from Skype for Business whiteboard. Typing, drawing strait lines.

Can you add the ability to type with text to the Whiteboard feature?
That would greatly facilitate its use. Not everyone has access to a pen or Wacom tablet.Thank you

I agree that adding text functionality is a priority & critical to facilitating calls/discussions/brainstorming

The integrated Whiteboard should have at the bare minimum text boxes. Ideally it should be a full-featured Whiteboard like your competitor Zoom.

Specifically: wanting these capabilities (the full whiteboard app capabilities) in the Teams whiteboard UI.
I would prioritize the ability to type text into the whiteboard space. (Not every Teams user has a touchscreen and contributing text to a Teams whiteboard is frustrating - kills collaboration - need to have the ability for the Team whiteboard UI to start providing capabilities that are on par with the proper whiteboard app. Starting with typing text onto the screen. Thanks! -

Exactly! I also thought that even PAINT has more possibilities than Web Whiteboard :(

Having the full functionality of the Whiteboard desktop app in Teams would be ideal - in particular, use of the templates

This is really important moving forward. I use the SMARTboard software and the 'share screen' option. But it would be really good if the whiteboard teams could be improved. I am an economics teacher so I do lots of diagrfams that require straight lines and fairly smooth curves.

The online version of the Whiteboard is totally unfunctional and so basic that it can't be used effectively in business. Either remove it from Teams and ensure the MS Whiteboard app is used OR add all the functionality from the app into the Web Whiteboard.

I think it's a great idea especially for primary students that would benefit from visuals.

Yes, the whiteboard would be most useful if it emulated what a teacher can do with an old- fashioned blackboard in class. pasting, posting and better dexterity with the writing tools would be nice.

as it stands, the white board is awkward and I would not use it. Teacher controls on the white board would be handy as well. like being able to mute/unmute individual students.

The whiteboard that is integrated into your current platform is slow to startup and hard to write on.
Is there a way to locate this feature on the shared screen option? -

Agreed. All virtual meeting/classroom platforms have the functionality for whiteboard AND uploaded documents to: allow learners to text onscreen, move text on screen, place a named arrow onscreen, etc.
