Show more than 4 videos of multiple participants in a meeting/call and change video layouts in Team Meeting - ie, 5+1, 9+1, 2x2, 8+2 etc
I would like to be able to see video from all participants in a meeting/ call at the same time. Currently in a Teams call, we can only see a few participants video stream even if there are many more on the call.
We are working on supporting more than 4 videos in a Teams meeting. We don’t have a date to share or exact number of videos to support showing at once, but will update as we get closer to completion. Stay tuned!
Feel free to share the # of students / videos you would need in comments.

We definitely need to be able to see all 28 students in a classroom, possibly all 86 in a grade level like the feature that Zoom has.
Please add a gallery view so we can see more than 4 video participants in Teams. On Zoom you can see a total of 9 which is so much better for medium sized groups and for personal video chat in these times of COVID-19. Even business could use more than the 4 videos. I use zoom for > 4 people now. You are losing business to Zoom unless you can expand your video feed and establish a gallery view for more participants. Thank you!
I think Zoom does a great job of allowing you to see a lot of people on your screen in gallery view and then being able to scroll to more people. Our enrichment team would like to meet with a grade level at a time which is about 100 students. Not all would be there each time but would be nice to have the capability to meet with 50 or more students. We want to make face to face contact with our students and it would be better if more faces can be seen at a time. Thank you!
I notice when there are more than 4 attendees in the meeting that their names will pop up in a row at the bottom of the screen. It would be great of those could just be small video feeds instead of names only. And then if we could just click on one to move it up to the larger part of the screen instead of waiting for them to talk, that would also be great.
And yes, the ability to see the chat bar while sharing screens would be great.
Also, being able to see both the attendees bar and the chat bar simultaneously (maybe half-screen height each) would also be wonderful.
I'm with 31 students and want to see them all if possible.
Ideally it would have a few options:
- as it is now
- all users
- but most importantly, Organiser pinned at the top and unable to change.
With students, they can pin another student and not even focus on the teacher!!!!
Yes please #25 students is my biggest class. Would be very helpful to see all students
I need at least 12. More would be better. Thanks

I'm with Dean's comments of yesterday. Our Primary School went with Zoom, as they can't see each other's faces. We are not getting pressure from our Senior School also, as they can't see all their faces. Ideally we would like 6 x 4.
Agreed, The interface should scale to the number of people in the meeting with a facility by the host to preset number of videos. No persons video should be excluded.
Please get this done, and quickly. Tried to run a grade 6 class with 25 students the other day just to get them some time to connect and with all the excitement of seeing each other, most of the kids didn’t even make it into the 4 live streams until the majority of the other students left the call. Was hoping to make this work and keep within the Microsoft platform, but Zoom will end up winning this one I think.

30 (number of students in most of our classes), so teacher can keep in touch with whole class

Any idea when I’m using Team in my surface why the Video keeps freezing? Audio is fine and I can see others video, but mine feezea.
I don’t know if this is already possible, but I would like to be able to see the chat of comments on the right hand chat, while sharing my screen, as well as perhaps a row of small windows with the students on the bottom lower level. In this way I could see them or if someone is typing a question while I am showing them something on my screen.
Another thing would be to share other files beyond the powerpoints during a group call.
I would like to be able to see one full class size. Obviously this number would depend on the school, or on the subject, as some have classes of 32 while others have classes of 20-25 students. Perhaps embedding different grids (e.g. 5x5, 5x6) to choose from would allow flexibility for all.
Up to 28 students would be ideal for us - for example, a grid of 7 x 4.
This is important so that our teachers don't start moving to alternative platforms. We would like a consistent approach across the school.
30 people would be great.
