Increase maximum meeting participants to 500
Currently, meetings are limited to 250 participants.
We have several departments within our organization containing 250-500 employees.
Because the current Teams meeting maximum size is 250, we use other applications to host meetings for these departments.
We would like to be able to use Teams for these larger group meetings.
Please increase the number of participants in meetings to 500.

We are expanding the limit for Teams meetngs from 300 to 1,000 active participates. Similarly, we are including a view-only experience for up to 20,000 people. Hi Gordon, I am glad to see Microsoft is paying attention to these types of requests.
In reality, all your team at Microsoft needs to offer is feature parity to what the major players, like Zoom and WebEx, offer. Both offer 500 participants (Zoom) and 1000 participants (WebEx) max users in a meeting. This is normal meeting scenarios. This is necessary as no one has time to teach and create a formal production format using Teams Live Events, when we constantly have to communicate to large user bases during the COVID-19 cisis. Simply not a realistic answer or solution. If you can increase the Live Events capacity to 100,000 in a moments' notice, I don't see how you can't do the same for normal meetings from 250 to 1000 (or even 500).
In addition to meetings, both leading competitors also offer webinar functionalities, similar to Teams Live Events up to 10,000 participants, and still they come on top as they allow chat, Q&A, polls and surveys functionality, all built-in within their webinar solutions.
I really like Teams but as a meeting solution is sub-par.
Bottom line - bring all the meeting functionalities up to parity (or better) with ease of use, and well thought out UX, and you will come on top!

For our organization (large online university), it would be very helpful to allow at least 1,000 participants. In some cases, for example college-wide faculty/staff meetings, it would be helpful to allow 2,000 participants.
Our use case is for internal faculty/staff meetings, with Q&A, breakout rooms, screensharing, synchronous and asynchronous document editing, etc.
Our participants are not students, but I imagine other organizations would find student participants needing similar features. -

Typically this is for department all hands or town hall meetings. Would like a solution that is less management heavy (like Live Events).

Would be nice to be able to have a single solution that allows for large audio bridges without having to find another third party solution.

Much needed to increase to 500 or even 1000 (I am sorry Microsoft, but Live Events is not the answer to 250+ attendees, as it requires re-learning, a production team to make it work, and is a delayed stream). Zoom and WebEx offer this + many more functionality like polling, Q&A, gallery view, etc. My users are using other platforms as Teams meetings is not cutting it as it lacks depth.

Meetings larger than 250 are becoming more common as organizations become more global. This is especially true in the Fortune 500/Enterprise space.

I'm a student of Politecnico di Milano in Italy and we're using teams for doing lessons because universities are closed due to Covid19.
We have like 50-100 students or more that can't participate in the chats of some courses here
250 it's a small number compared to the number of students that have to partecipate to the lectures -

We have like 50-100 students or more that can't participate in the chats of some courses here at PoliMi. This has become the main mean of communication between students and professors due to the outbreak of COVID19

Totally agree! This is very limiting and Live Meeting is not a very good option until you hit 500+ participants.
