Allow only the organizer to mute or remove other participants by default
Change the meeting settings so that only the organizer can mute and remove participants. We are having trouble with students removing other students from a meeting.
Hi there, yes it is possible. Try this out:
After you created the meeting, go to “meeting options” and change the presenter to “only me”. This way, all non-organizers are joining as an “attendee” meeting role, which cannot mute nor remove other participants.
Do you wish that the setting can be set by default by the admin? Let us know your thoughts.

I can't seem to find "Meeting options". I searched for this everywhere!
Someone said we need to schedule the meeting beforehand, but when you have 5 periods it's quite a lot of unnecessary work to schedule the meetings one by one. I tried to go into the "permissions" tab for the members but I didn't find anything to disable them from muting each other and the teacher.
Btw I didn't find calenders anywhere and watched several YouTube videos to schedule a meeting but each video has different options from the ones available to me.
Even my mates teaching in different schools under the same organization have different options from the ones I have.
What I do right now, which is quite messy but does the job, is make the students attendees one by one.

Gordon - I wonder if a further option would be to log who had used the privilege? The issue at present is the anonymous way in which this can happen.

Yes Gordon Chang, this should be the setting by default, at least in an Academic setting. Teachers shouldn't have to go to Meeting options (only once the meeting is already scheduled) to change the rights. It's not sensible for this environment, though it may be for a corporate environment with adults. Teachers (the Organizer) can always make students presenters as needed and then remove the rights, similar to how Zoom works by allowing the host to shift the host and reclaim host rights.

If you schedule a meeting, it stops students from having control, although you need to control this feature (by pressing the three circles) once you schedule a meeting.
I would like the ability to permanently remove (and/or silence) students from a meeting.

There should be a strict policies in Teams admin center where the admin can create a strict policy for students with very limited access to the teams.
Currently, Students are removing the fellow students and muting the teachers which create lots of confusion and disturbance in the remote class session.
you can make the organizer the only presenter so no one can mute anyone else
everyone can remove others from the meeting. This aint right as people just remove each other and class is ruined. kindly give this control to the organizer
