Change Teams type for an existing Team in EDU
In Microsoft Teams for EDU we have four options when creating a new team: Classes, PLCs, Staff Members, Anyone
I would like the ability to change the Team type after creation.

Currently our recommendation is to create another team with your desired type, and migrate the files, team setup, apps, and members to the new team.
Feel free to comment further on when you may need to change Teams type for an existing team. Is it always right after you create a team?

Also the ability to create with templates other than Class and Staff under powershell (and still using 0.9.6).
This needs to be available. We have teams that were created in admin console that need to be a class. At the very least it needs to be an option in the admin console
Please work this fast. I am a school teacher, but the admins created our teams from admin panel, not CLASS type. I succeed to add Assignments and Grades somehow, but can't mute members from MANAGE TEAM, and can't add Insights and similar things. Also, the option "Create a team using an existing team as a template" don't work on different types

We disabled user creation of Teams, so Teams could only be created through the Teams Admin portal ( as the number of Teams created was getting out of hand).
A few months and 100 teams created via the admin centre later, we realised they were all standard teams and were missing the education features such as assignments. Being able to change the Team type would be very useful for us.

tuve la mala fortuna de crear los grupos via office 365, no me dio la opcion del tipo de grupo de teams por lo que no creo one note class, luego de haber agregado los miembros uno a uno tuve que borrar o eliminar todo, y crearlos por teams para que me creara esa caracteristica. El otro problema es que por office 365 usted puede poner el correo como quiera pero por teams el correo queda igual que el nombre y no es compatible, usted necesita un nombre descriptivo pero un nombre de correo corto facil de manejar.
It seems that when a admin creates a new team from out of the team administration site you can't select the type of team you want to create out of the options Classes, PLCs, Staff etc.
It seems to also then be impossible to add the ability for assignments/grades etc to a team due to this and therefore the team needs to be recreated, which can cause unecessary issues for classes/teachers.
Having the ability to change the team to provide the additional features will be great.
