Returned assignments should show up as "Graded" or as "Needs Revised."
When I return an assignment to a student for any reason, it just says "Returned." There should be an easy way for the student to see if the assignment has been "Graded" or if it "Needs Revised" so that the student knows there is more they need to do.
YES, PLEASE!! This is my one complaint because there are ways for the students to check, but they don't take the time to read the comments which tell them to redo the assignment. THANKS!!
Additionally, it is confusing or misleading to parents who are checking in on their students. The student can easily tell their parent "see - I have no assignments." when they've really just been turning in empty assignments knowing they disapear, never to return. I teach middle school, but I am sure there are plenty of children at every level who have figured this out.

returned assignments stay in my student's "completed" bucket, rather than moving back into "assigned".

This would be extremely helpful! I'm getting students just clicking Turn In on blank assignments because even if I give them feedback to finish it, when I return the assignment it goes into their 'completed' section.
If at all possible creating a feedback loop with a final/hard turn in and return would be amazing.
Currently students get given a notification that a piece of work has been returned, but when they look on the assignment list it does not stand out in any way.
A fundamental part of learning is being able to look back and correct work.
This is a barrier to making that straightforward.
Please take these comments and make the change! Thank you! Teachers need this
I totally agree! I also teach elementary, 2nd grade. I frequently hand assignments back and request revisions, sometimes more than once on the same assignment. In class, it is easy to do that and then track whether or not the revisions are finished. Currently, while working online, I have fewer assignments than we did in class, but we still work with so many assignments that my students shouldn't be expected to have to sort through their "returned" assignments to find ones that need revisions. The students and teachers need another subdivision added to the assignments page where assignments needing revisions show up. As teachers, we need another button to click when returning assignments, perhaps "Needs revisions" or something like that. The students could have another button saying "Turn in revisions", or something similar, that they can click after reworking an assignment. We actually need this feature ASAP, like yesterday! Please work on it!
When it's been graded or returned, they think it's been completed and is no longer on their assignment list. We need a "needs revision" or "mark incomplete" option.
Agreed! For elementary classroom purposes especially, it is too overwhelming for students to get their work returned to them when all I want to convey to them is that I have seen their work and it has been graded. The return feature makes sense for reworking mistakes, but just for the simple process of grading it is not helpful.
YES! So many students basically attacked me about why I was "returning" their work. I told them it is returned when it is graded and also returned if they need corrections. I told them that if a grade # wasn't assigned then they needed to resubmit. But it seems like I should be able to have an option for graded or return for revision.
Yes agree, also if it has been "Graded" they shouldn't have the ability to "Hand in again". The teacher should have the option to either return it completely or return it to be submitted again.
