Inking Bug when reviewing OneNote pages in Teams
I tried to leave this feedback through the "Report a Problem" option, but my rant is too long.
I'm reviewing my first student OneNote assignment through the Teams interface. Normally I grade only through OneNote, but I want to use the rubric feature Teams provides. At the same time I use the rubric, I still want to leave feedback through ink on a student's OneNote page. This can't be done without it being a cumbersome awkward process that no teacher wants do. Here's why
While in Teams, when I'm reviewing students' OneNote work through the Review interface, I'm looking at their work through OneNote online. That's fine and dandy, but if I want to ink first I need to click the "Edit Notebook" button an select the Edit in OneNote Online option. This is not intuitive, especially for someone new to this tool. So, after I choose the edit in OneNote online option, the toolbar appears, but it does not respond to touch very well. Eventually I'm able to get the Draw tools to appear, and I select "Pen" from the toolbar so I can ink on the page, but it doesn't work! OneNote Online embedded into Teams doesn't recognize my Surface Pen (it does in regular OneNote online ¯_(ツ)_/¯ ). Ink is only responsive to my finger. So now I'm annoyed, and I want to stop inking with my finger, but when I try to select the Draw toolbar to select the "Type" option (to get out of inking), I can't! Teams thinks I'm still editing the page and now I'm leaving dots all over the top of the page. At this point I'm stuck, have to close out the Review window, and I no longer want to use Teams to review OneNote work

Yes...this! So frustrating after using onenote for years and grading/annotating work, trying to use teams for all the assignment and communication tools. But tems won't allow me to mark up papers within the onenote window easily...the lack of pen support especially. Also this onenote online window within teams assignments is very laggy while drawing. I would love to use one app for everything...

That's a good idea Brian, but then I can't grade on the couch :-(

I agree, I’ve suggested that option of OneNote app or 2016 in addition to online version inside of teams. What I do is use split screen with OneNote app on left, teams on right. But even better is when I use surface with an external monitor. OneNote in surface for inking, teams on second monitor.
