Using the Pen feature in assessing assignments in Teams assignment review.
Great job guys.
I am currently marking an Economics essay in Teams Assignment Review, but I realized that I am not able to annotate students work with my Pen. Neither I am allowed to type text on the assignment. The only feedback that can be given is the feedback box on the right. Writing on students' work at the exact area that the feedback is relevant to is extremely important for us teachers, as students will be able to get clear feedback for improvement next time.

Any update on this feature please?
I totally agree with frustration of other teachers expressed here. It is impossible as a language teacher to give focused feedback without being able to mark the actual work presented. This is a very serious flaw and an URGENT issue in current circumstances.
Ditto, ditto, ditto! Microsoft, please add a draw option so we teachers can mark student assignments within Teams when viewing their turned in work!
I've moved school and had been using Google Classroom all through school closures to mark work that was submitted as image files using my Apple Pencil. It was easy and meant feedback was targeted. I'm now in a school using Teams and this is one of my two key issues with Teams (the other is having to click into each individual Team to see assignments that are due - I want to see them all on one screen like in Google Classroom). Please add Draw tools, particularly for images and PDFs.

I was under the impression that I could grade with theDraw tool. This is quite a disappointment. Are there any expected upgates?
yup-this needs to be an added feature! It's so obvious!!
How is this missing?
Agreed - this really adds a lot of steps to the workflow; in order to annotate I need to open in app, then print to the Class Notebook.
Critically, I can't leave the assignments stored in Teams. The small box at the side is not useful when actually assessing any work meaningfully.
Just trying out MS teams and one note. My class submitted images to an assignment on teams and I can’t use my stylus to give feedback. Did the person who wrote the code for teams even talk to a teacher?
This is a vital tool for feedback - surface or iPad users. Come on guys - add the pen feature to teams. And quickly.

Please add draw tool on the assignment on Teams so teachers can mark assignments.
Using the draw tool on files uploaded through Add Work would be extremely useful - both on pdf and word. Google Classrooms has this function and saves a lot of time when marking work.

Is there any option to use draw tool on the files uploaded through add work
Absolutely critical that students and teachers be able to annotate directly on a PDF assignment, much like Showbie allows. The workaround is way too time-consuming and frustrating. Come on, iBooks allows annotations, why not Teams!!!!!
What is the update on this. I have assessments to mark and it is pointless. It looks as though I am returning work not marked but just given a mark.

This would make virtual grading so much easier. I need to be able to give my math students feedback on specific parts of the problem so they can recognize and fix their mistakes.

Using the pencil on iPad is the only main missing feature being a massive draw back for people using iTunes U (yes I know it hurts...) and stopping them to move to Teams. Students must be able to annotate with keyboard or pencil directly in Teams homeworks they’re assigned and teachers must be able to annotate and grade homework’s directly in Teams too. This become more than URGENT in this pandemic situation with schools moving to digital environnement. This should actually be added really really fast (like in September...) and shouldn’t be that complicated as Onedrive allows to annotate files. Come on Microsoft !! This is a game changer... THE most important app killer feature for digital teaching. Teachers need you ... NOW.

This would make Teams favorably competitive. Streamlining grading in a world of all-online is a major issue that could be solved by this!

I'll add my voice to the chorus and say that being able to annotate student's work directly from their submission with my Surface pen is crucial. Right now, not having this feature is what is stopping me from switching to Teams.

Ideally it should be possible to open a separate copy of the assignment and annotate it.
Currently I download the document, print it into the background of a OneNote page. Then I can write or type on it using my Surface Pro before copying it over to the student's individual section in the class notebook.
Teams doesn't really help at all with this laborious process and I can't even include a proper link to the marked OneNote page in the feedback.
Come on Microsoft please help busy teachers who are already overloaded!
