Remove default tabs - build custom channel
i would like te be able to remove the default tabs (Conversations, Files, Wiki) from a channel.
So i can build a fully custom channel

Another vote for this. I'm not using the assignments feature within Teams (because it doesn't have the math capabilities that I need), but those Assignments and Grades tabs are taking up space, while the tabs that I actually want my students to be able to access get stuck in the "2 more" drop-down.
We should be able to customize our Team and streamline it for our class.
Another vote for being able to remove/hide or at the very least MOVE tabs such as Class Notebook. I have a hard time as it is teaching my special education students to navigate on teams, without asking them to go looking past unnecessary tabs to find the ones they actually need. After doing a quick search through the community, it looks like this has been an issue for MANY people for YEARS. I don't understand why it still hasn't been addressed.

I agree -- the default tabs prevent a teacher from customizing the class and create confusion and clutter for the students.
FFS Microsoft, you should know better...!!!

This is very frustrating and creates unnecessary obstacles.

Why is MS Teams so darned inflexible and user unfriendly!? There should be a way to remove default tabs, and do so many other simple things. Microsoft should spend some more time learning from Canvas . . .

We are trying to customize to use with primary students and want to make a simplified teams template for 1st-2nd grade students with limited tab choices.
Please make it so that default tabs like class notebook and grades can be removed. We want to use a different setup at our school (Sharepoint for class documents and notes) and I don't want the students and teachers being confused by this tab.
please i just want to be able to remove my classnote book but cant because it was made in teams
This needs doing immediately, particularly so I can remove the Class Notebook tab. There is no way of fully integrating my existing OneNote class notebooks in Teams, other than copying the 'content library' from my existing one over. This is no use, seeing as though I have many marked assignments in their own folders, which I don't want being wiped.
I want to be able to remove the class notebook! I was just testing it out, and now I can't get rid of it. Super frustrating! Why wouldn't there be an option to remove it?? I wish I was that confident about not making mistakes...

Teams has evolved massively in the last year and this should be part of the "New" Teams vision. We can now use teams Channels to push people towards different areas such as Dashboards, PowerApps and a multitude of Apps. Yet when they click on a channel they automatically end up on a redundant Chat page. It is just not a good user experience.
Teams is becoming a hub for everything yet still has this default behaviour, it seems crazy to me as its such a simple change.
There were 679 votes on this previously and they should be added here.
I agree. This idea was declined two years ago [https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/17731678-make-it-possible-to-remove-and-or-rename-the-defau] but I would encourage Microsoft to revisit it. The default tabs are a great idea but, as described in that other thread, they are not customizable and lead to confusion.
