Onenote and Teams- Adding Preexisting OneNote Notebooks to Teams
Could you please make it possible to add pre exisiting OneNote Notebooks to teams?
Thank you,

Here’s more information on how to add content form existing OneNote Class/Staff Notebooks to a Class or Staff Team: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/set-up-a-class-notebook-in-teams-using-existing-content-0a8c3b96-7784-4323-9931-09747c124e7d

We don't want to create a new OneNote and copy the content in )although this is a great feature at the start of a learning cycle. We have existing OneNotes with extensive content in both teacher content area as well as student, and whilst we can copy in the teacher, it doesn't bring across the students sections.

Justin Chando says that Teams has this feature. But as a professor when trying to add an existing Class notebook, it doesn't work. The option shows up but when clicking nothing happens. I ended up creating a new class notebook and copying all the content from the old one to the new one.

Onenote was set up for my classes at the beginning of the year - pre remote learning coming into force NOW. Now Teams have needed to be be set up for each class, it would be really great if existing Onenote Class Notebooks could just slot into the Teams set up for the same classes. They have already completed a LOT of work.

This feature allows content from the content library and teacher space, but doesn't seem to bring over student work that they have already completed in OneNote.
I began using OneNote and then was shown how teams can work with it. It would be a little frustrating to get all of the students to copy and paste their work over, so the only option seems to be to have both apps going. -

When a year 10 class becomes a year 11 class, I should be able to use the OLD notebook. As things stand I have to copy to a new notebook (perhaps leaving people on the old one) or not have the old one linked but keep using it.
I want to keep using the old one, but link the new class to it (the new class usually would have the same kids!)
I’m trying to persuade the school not to re-do all the groups each year, but better if I didn’t have to rely on that.

Please add this to EDU tenants, as feature is needed by teachers. It is possible to add existing OneNote notebooks to non-edu tenants: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/add-a-onenote-notebook-to-teams-0ec78cc3-ba3b-4279-a88e-aa40af9865c2

I am also with Liam - Why does this work for non .EDU tenants?
Wouldn't it be easier for Microsoft to Manage the entire ecosystem all of the tenants (.GOV, .EDU, .COM) had the same capabilities?

Totally agree!

Anyone who does not work in education has the ability to do this, but those who need it most can't!
Can you please update us on when this feature is coming to Office 365 for Education?
