I would love for the assignment tab to show up in each channel created. I create a new channel to match each unit of study. I use each channel as a module.
Are there any plans or timelines to implement this?
For our school this is a big problem. We are also organized in class-teams with channels for the individual subjects.
Splitting up the Subjects into individual teams as it is used in the US is not an option in our environment, where we are used to have the same people in the same class going together trough all the subjects.
Please give us some kind of feedback.

Yes, please - add the assignments tab to every channel we require it in. We are trying to push out Teams for homework across the school and this lack of support had lead to a number of administrative problems. Let us manage our Teams and channels as we see fit, not how you think we should - please.

Please add the assignments tab in each channel. It makes things a lot easier for my elementary students.

Definitely useful. Please add this. Now we have to create a new Teams for each course, which is not a big problem for students, but teachers get an overload of Teams.
The lack of this feature is stopping me from rolling this out in my school.
It seems mad to create a new team for all years subjects and sets.
1 team for year and channels for subjects with assignments to channels makes much more sense for the education market.
Please add an assignment tab to each channel! This would add to the organization of the content of the class!
I also do love that I can see all the assignments assigned throughout the year in one spot, so please do not remove that section. Just add the assignment tab to each channel. Thank you.
Hey, this is a must have! Why is there no ability to add a assignment tab to channels?
I am looking into using teams. At the moment I use google classrooms because it was a lot easier to understand and use than Microsoft classrooms a couple of years ago.
I like what you have done with teams - it is a lot more friendly to use - I particularly like the rubric marking.
I would really like to see the ability to add assignments to specific channels - it would make it a lot easier for me to use and for the pupils to understand as others have said here.
Keep up the good work!
I agree that way assignments match up to the channel to be able to review later.
Even having the ability to assign the assignments to a specific channel within the master group would be awesome!

Not having this option is a huge drawback. Microsoft should get this done ASAP!
I also need a task tab in the new channel.
We're looking into implementing Teams for our Students, but to make things easier for our students and have everything in one team instead of 10+ teams. That's why we want to make 1 team for 1 class and in this team we want to create private channels for each course, example:
Team: Class B1a (first year, class a)
Channel: English (Users: English teacher, all b1a students)
Channel: Mathematics (Users: Mathemetics teacher, all b1a students)
Channel: Science (you get the point..)
To accomplish this we need 2 things:
1. Private channels (the ability to manage / remove / add users to a channel only).
2. An assignments tab in new created channels (and not only the General channel).
I know we could create a new team for every course, but we think this is more user friendly for our students. I hope this is going to be picked up by the Teams dev team soon.

This is a must for us. It allows students and staff to easily see the assignments set. Otherwise it becomes too hard to easily see what has been set.
I would also love for both "Assignment" tab & class notebook Tab to be in the new channel as well! https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/599053-schools-and-universities/suggestions/31634371-add-the-ability-to-have-more-than-one-onenote-clas#comments
