notify me (the teacher) when a student turns in an assignment
As a teacher of 7 different classes, I have to go into each assignment individually to see when students turn in assignments. This is very time-consuming! Please allow me to set up a notification when a student turns in an assignment.

Thanks for all of the feedback on this one. We are reviewing how we can improve notifications around Assignments in Teams. Please keep the feedback coming!

Does not have to be a notification. Simply an icon visually showing if an assignment has been completed or modified. The grades tab should also show when new work is turned in- just like the assignment tab does, or the individual student tab on the grades tab. It should not be simply when a student clicks "turn in"- since that often is not done at all, or done when no work is actually attached.

Yes! I agree! As a teacher who uses Teams primarily (throughout our entire high school) as our online teaching platform, (as well as our class organization) we need these notifications! It would be a HUGE timesaver, and would keep us coming back for more of your services!

This needs to happen. Also- an option to return to the student for corrections/additions etc.

Add an icon or a bubble count to the team to show assignments turned in and waiting grading. (not just submitted or returned)

This commonsense idea was submitted three years ago...and it's been under review for over a year...something like this would same me AT LEAST three hours of work a week. Why hasn't anything happened?

It would help if there was a special notification for late assignments

YES PLEASE. This is so critical and I spend so much time tracking work turned in late! It's crazy that this doesn't exist already... (no offense intended).
A work around that should be an easy modification, when a teacher "returns" an incomplete assignment to a student with no grade in it, that assignment should NOT go to the student's "completed" or "returned" section! It should stay in their assigned area/section. -

This is great recommendation.

In a perfect world, all students would submit the assignment by the deadline and the the teacher would be able to go through all the assignments and assess them all in one fell swoop. This is never what actually happens, though. Often students submit late...sometimes REALLY late. Or sometimes I have an assignment that students complete as they want to and so submissions trickle in. As the original poster mentioned, the only way to know that a student has submitted an assignment is by combing through each individual assignment looking for new "turned in" signs. This is unacceptably time consuming, but if I don't do it, I have students who don't get feedback from me for an unreasonable length of time.We get notifications for so many things in Teams, I can't believe there isn't already one for this. When an assignment is submitted, the red dot should appear on my "Assignments" button, next to the appropriate class(es) once in "Assignments", on the appropriate assignment once in your list of assignments, and on the appropriate(s) Team icon. In a perfect work, you would show me somewhere how many outstanding assignments I have to mark (like Schoology does), but I would settle for a light going on when something is submitted that stays on until I have no more assignments to return.

It is essential for using the assignment part of the program to have a visual for late assignments or resubmitted work.
Checking every class in the current format is not feasible. We need this now! -

This feature would make a world of difference for teachers. As deadlines approach, students and teachers are very concerned about work that does not get credited due to being overlooked.

Please add this feature! As a specialist with over 400 students, I am CONSTANTLY checking Late assignments. So many unnecessary hours wasted if there was a notification icon by the students name when something is turned in late

Please create an option of student assignment turn-in notifications.

Just get it done stupid microsoft. Brightspace and google classroom can do it. I am being forced by my employer to use your crappy software. You could at least give it this important piece of functionality. Seems like you have been fielding this request for a few years now. What's the hold up?
