Track student attendance within Teams
Everything is so cool, I love it, but could be possible to add a tab to keep track of the students attendance?
Hello awesome educators. Within the Insights tab educators now have access to engagement data including when students work on assignments, files, conversations/chat, and meetings. Please see this article for additional details:
As always, we appreciate your feedback.
3. Physical classrooms too, since we may be using both physical and online at the same time with the same teacher.
4. Perfect, done.
For our purposes...
2. Yes (it would be great to be able to run reports and track attendance by student - even across classes by admins in a semester)
3. primarily physical classrooms, but meeting tracking integration would also be a huge asset
It would also be helpful to be able to customize options for attendance - e.g. Physically Present, Digitally Present, Absent, Excused Absence, Tardy, Auditor Absence, etc.

It should be like "Grade" tab. One tab "Attendance" where we can see list of student - day wise attendance fetched from channel meeting. When school resumes after lockdown - the ability for teachers to mark student present or absent manually for physical classes. Export to excel to download the same.
Gadebook-like experience to track online AND physical classroom attendance
Insights does this so I no longer need to vote in this.

Must needed feature for schools
I am looking to track student's attendance to classes on teams group calls.
I'd like to add my voice to this request - we are moving ahead into possible long term online classrooms using Teams, without an integrated attendance solution. Microsoft marketing Teams as an Education solution without this is laughable.
I would like to see if and when a student opened up our team or channel. Right now, I have no way of knowing who is actually using my team unless they post a message,
I think this should involve 'analytics' - we should be able to see which users are using the system and which aren't - who is checking work, etc. as a teacher this is needed to monitor who we should help! Please give us that options within analytics - it would surely be simple?

Would be a really great added value! As Breda University of Applied Science we need this

we as university need to track the attendace, offline and online from our students.
so we need a list to checkmark that somebody was in a classroom on a day x und was in online meeting on day y.
Currently we run this over Moodle with attendance plugin, an intergration or communication between teams and moodle would be a dream!

During the COVID-19 school closure, we have to track each time we have contact with a student, this includes when they access TEAMS to check for or submit assignments.
If I could just see their access history under the Manage Team section that would be great. Right now it just shows the last time they accessed TEAMS; I have to go into each individual assignment to see their access history - that's a lot of keystrokes to check on my 117 students, especially if I assign more than one assignment per week.
We are looking for an attendance logging /tracking system from Microsoft Teams. Since this is a period where we are all in lockdown, an urgent solution with respect to this is much appreciated.
1- Who attends it.
2- if the class is 2 hours, who complete it and not. (Time tracking individually)
3- Who is most active to
4- Who is the idlest ranking
6- Summary of the chat (downloaded in excel or pdf)

For information this is not yet sufficient but... one of our teachers (thank you Michel) informed me that an app Teams has been made available by Microsoft Education "Insights (Preview)" and obviously the support service 1 and 2 are not informed.
You can add in a team the "Information" app, the stats will be available only to teachers.
My Year Three Team Teachers, would like to be able to track with more detail WHO has been on, WHAT they are completing each day.
Very interesting .Learned more abaut one notes
