With Teams replacing Class Notebook, there is a focus to use this in Education. If Teams worked with LTI, it would allow Learning Management Systems such as Moodle and Canvas to assign users to a Team through direct single sign on. This creates a more seamless experience for students and decreases the amount of admin needed to get them in.
Further to this, each group inside an LMS could be given a separate team or private channel in Teams to Collaborate. This would be massively beneficial for Education.
Thanks to all of your feedback and thanks to our partners and their tireless efforts, we’ve made it possible for you to now set up a Microsoft Teams meeting for your online classroom directly from within your learning management system (LMS).
This new capability allows you to quickly enable remote learning for your students and faculty by bringing the power of Teams directly into your LMS. We already have integrations launched across the world’s top LMSs; Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace, Schoology, and itsLearning!
Learn more about these new integrations and get started today here; https://educationblog.microsoft.com/en-us/2020/03/microsoft-teams-meeting-creation-now-available-in-canvas-blackboard-schoology-brightspace-and-itslearning/
The best part is this is only the beginning because as Teams evolves, we’ll continue to improve our LMS integrations as well. Thank you!

This is critical if MS is to really be used in education settings. Com is currently being preferred due to LTI integration

Please make this happen. Canvas needs a better collaboration tool.

We use Moodle which lacks strong collaborative tools so it would be very useful to have an LTI integration for Moodle courses and which would also synchronise with student groups.
We would like to use Streams as lecture capture. having canvas LTI integration would be a great addition. We are already telling faculty to use teams but the lack of integration is causing confusion and slowing adoption.

Use external IMS learning packages through the LTI standard in MSTeams.
No LMS needed in MSTeams. Use MSTeams als a basic LMS.
A content-creation tool direct to be connected with MS Teams through LTI.
That should be the infrastructure. Thank You!
We would also find this useful, but we use a different LMS, so would like the option to set up with other vendors (via the typical LTI key and secret)
We use Canvas and are currently looking into integrating VC tools through LTI. As we complete our migration to O365 it would be good to integrate Teams Meetings through LTI.
Would like to see this in Canvas!
There are lot of solutions has been built around LMS with LTI, It will give us opportunities to integrate LMS as well as other existing & new solutions

This and Skype for Business Integration would be great
yes, please add LTI on microsoft teams. I think in the future one institution work together with other institution sharing their content. Since microsoft teams became one platform for online learning , LTI absolutely needed.
This would be most appreciated.
Yes, please integrate Teams into Canvas.
Please integrate so assignments and grades can go to a LMS like Livegrades. This would be wonderful. It has been done with ClassNotebook - we need the same features usable for Microsoft Teams. This is a major need for Education.
Teams would be a great collaboration space inside our LMS.

Please do it
Our school would definitely use this integration with Canvas. We have been integrating Canvas in our school for the last 18 months and while our teachers are starting to use the Groups feature in Canvas, we find the Teams app more intuitive.
We also have heavy O365 usage with all our staff and students utilising a range of products from their OneDrive, including the class OneNote books, Outlook and Sharepoint - we also love the Canvas plugin that allows our students to submit assignments directly from their Word/Excel/Powerpoint app.
This is definitely something we would be very interested in.
In addition to my post, this link to a Canvas community discussion on this topic might be interesting: https://community.canvaslms.com/thread/13724-microsoft-teams
I do think LTI implementation is very important. I work at a college and we are heavy users of Microsoft products (Outlook Online, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, ...). We are also in the process of rolling out Canvas LMS. In Canvas we use the LTI integration for OneDrive (O365 integration).
It would be a great to provide LTI integration for Teams using LTI, analogous to OneDrive and OneNote class notebook.
Teams is very powerful and LTI integration would further enable end users to adopt this product to work together on tasks, assignments, projects, ...
Since the LTI standard has now been adopted by most if not all major Learning management tools, It would be best to provide integration options for Teams via an LTI connector. Such an integration would be of great benefit to all O365 schools and is a logical next step now that other Microsoft O365 tools, such as OneDrive, have been integrated. Is it possible to look into this topic?
