Remove "Staff Notebook" from Microsoft Teams for Education
I am not sure if this is a bug or not but we are using Microsoft Teams educational licenses. We want to use the Teams for our internal staff departments first. For some reason the setup of teams includes extra educational features like it force creates a OneNote tab called "Staff Notebook" in the General channel of each team. the OneNote includes a lot of classroom type customization that we do not want/need. Our departments have their own OneNotes. I cannot delete Staff Notebook tab or even rename it. I can add and delete other OneNotes but we want a…
534 votesHi everyone! If you do not want to use the OneNote Staff Notebook or any of the other default tabs across the various team types, we suggest creating an ‘Anyone’ team instead.
The ‘Anyone’ team will not include any add-ons by default and gives you the flexibility to use Teams however you would like. We understand that there are so many other ways you can use Teams that does not fit the Class/PLC/Staff team template. So ‘Anyone’ will be your best option!

Thank you!

Share a file across multiple team
I have created several teams for my school (Yr 7 Maths, Yr 8 Maths, Yr 9 Maths) and while most of the time each team would be working specifically within that team, sometimes there may be a department file that we need to work on. Can I share the file between teams, and have the file constantly update and sync across all teams?
182 votesThe sharing of such files will need to be done via the O365 app (word, excel, etc) as it follows the logic defined by the Office app being used.
Here is a video which provides some guidance – https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Video-Share-documents-in-Office-365-1438f676-ee5c-40cb-a1f3-f814e649d2ea

Allow only the organizer to mute or remove other participants by default
Change the meeting settings so that only the organizer can mute and remove participants. We are having trouble with students removing other students from a meeting.
76 votesHi there, yes it is possible. Try this out:
After you created the meeting, go to “meeting options” and change the presenter to “only me”. This way, all non-organizers are joining as an “attendee” meeting role, which cannot mute nor remove other participants.Learn more at https://support.office.com/article/roles-in-a-teams-meeting-c16fa7d0-1666-4dde-8686-0a0bfe16e019
Do you wish that the setting can be set by default by the admin? Let us know your thoughts.

"Detect Fragments and Run-On Sentences" feature in Word 2016
Previous versions of Word detected fragments and run-on sentences, but Word 2016 does not. This is especially problematic because these are two of the most common writing errors students make; many students relied on this feature to improve their writing
Please vote to have this feature added to Word 2016.68 votesThank you for the feedback, however you have posted this Word request to the Microsoft Teams user feedback.
Feedback about Word should be posted on the Word user feedback page which can be found at: https://word.uservoice.com/forums/304924-word-for-windows-desktop-application

I want to try to provide clarity on the current functionality because we find that sometimes people are unaware of the settings available to tenant & team admins. There are three different types of edit/delete settings, all of which are switched on/off at the tenant or team level.
1) Allow users to edit their own messages
2) Allow users to delete their own messages
3) Allow owners to delete all messagesTenant level settings:
Tenant admins can update capabilities from the “Messaging” section in the Admin center.
By default, allow users to edit/delete their own messages is ON at the tenant level (and therefore the team level).
By default, allow owners to delete all messages is OFF by default in all tenants, except in EDU where it is ON by default.Team level settings:
If edit and delete settings are enabled by the Tenant admin, team owners can also control… -
Presenter view when sharing PowerPoint presentation
It would be nice to see presenter view with “next slide” and notes when presenting PowerPoint slides.
30 votesThank you for your feedback!
We have addressed your usability feedback with a quick mitigation via a keyboard shortcut for now: try clicking in the slide area, and press “Ctrl+Shift+X”.
The notes and thumbnail strip should be closed. Using the same keyboard shortcut key again can bring the presenter view back. This update is now available.
At the same time, we are also working on hiding the presenter view by default on devices with small screens. We will keep you posted when the update is available.
Again, thank you for giving the feedback and helping us make the product better!

Show when a member was last online
I am trying to figure out which pupils have accessed our class Teams but this would be a lot more useful if you could see a date and a time when that member last logged on.

Integrate Excel with Teams for Attendance
Being a student our first 10 mins get wasted in attendance as faculty has to call out all names and mark our attendance. India we have 100 students in one session, so its too hectic.
Its gonna be great, if Teams team can integrate, Excel with it and can fetch data for all people who have joined the meeting. If possible fetch as per present date and time, Its gonna be helpful for saving time and increase efficiency.
