Hard mute students audio in a meeting (so they cannot unmute themselves)
Teachers should be able to mute students voices in a way that they cannot dis activate. This could be used for lecture. Or to stop students interrupting on purpose.
4,822 votesWe have launched the ability for a presenter to ‘hard mute’ attendees. This feature gives meeting organizers the ability to mute one to many meeting participants while removing the muted participants’ ability to unmute themselves.

"Wait in lobby" for student (participants) in scheduled meetings
In order to use scheduled meetings for teaching is necessary that the meeting organizer can force student to "wait in lobby" if they try to enter the meeting before the teacher.
In my case, students are part of the organization, they are not guests. For this reason, this functionality for my school is not possible.
The possibility to force participants (even if part of the organization) in the lobby is necessary, because otherwise students could use the scheduled meeting to enter by their own and talk privately without the teacher.
3,130 votesWe are happy to announce the “Only me” option for the “Who can bypass lobby?” setting is now available for Teams meetings. Details on the new lobby option can be found here, https://support.microsoft.com/office/change-participant-settings-for-a-teams-meeting-53261366-dbd5-45f9-aae9-a70e6354f88e.

Prevent students from starting a meeting unattended
It would be very useful to be able to prevent students from starting a meeting unattended, regardless of what type of meetings it is.
This because, when working with younger students, the best option is that only teachers can start new meeting (with other teachers and/or with students).

Revert Assignments Format – show all assignments across class teams
Keep the original teams assignment format where we would see all the assignments in one place for all classes. With this new format we have to enter into select classes to see assignments, making it very difficult and inconvenient. Please change back to the old format! It helps all of us stay organized by seeing all the assignments in one screen.
2,214 votesHello wonderful educators.
I am excited to announce that today we brought back the all-up assignments view for educators and students.

Prevent attendees inviting users within an in progress meeting
Currently, attendees are able to use the participants pane in an ongoing meeting to invite users to the meeting. In an education setting, this means disruptive/cheeky students are able to abuse the invite option to call anybody within the school.. There's absolutely no reason in an educational setting for students to be able to invite anybody they like to a live lesson (meeting) - we make them attendees for a reason!
1,726 votesThere are two methods to block students from inviting users to an ongoing meeting: 1) Disable Call Me and 2) Ensure all students are attendees.
Admins: This feature is controlled at the organizer level. To prevent students from using this feature in class meetings, turn this Audio Conferencing setting off for educators organizing class meetings: Dial-out from meetings: Off
Educators: Set Who can present to Only me to ensure that your students and other participants join as meeting attendees.

Show more than 4 videos of multiple participants in a meeting/call and change video layouts in Team Meeting- 5+1, 9+1, 2x2, 8+2 (grid view)
I would like to be able to see video from all participants in a meeting/ call at the same time. Currently in a Teams call, we can only see a few participants video stream even if there are many more on the call.
4,759 votesWe are excited to announce that large gallery view (7×7 videos) and Together mode are available to the public for desktop & mobile. Large Gallery is an optional feature and can be turned on at any time during the meeting. Large Gallery is available once 10 or more people have turned their video on. Together Mode is available once 5 or more people are in the meeting. Add a global admin setting for the default role of meeting attendee
If you want to make meeting attendees Participants by default (so that they can't present, mute you and remove from a meeting), then you have to manually change meeting options of a particular meeting and set "Who can present?". Today this option can't be set globally by default in Teams admin center. Please add this feature.
1,196 votesThank you for your feedback. We’re happy to announce the ability for admins to change the default value of ‘Who can present?’ in Meeting Options in the Teams client via the new parameter, DesignatedPresenterRoleMode.

Raise Hands in Team
The teachers in Hong Kong have been using Teams and OneNote to teach virtually at home during class suspension since early February. It’d be very useful if students are allowed to raise hands to ask a Q during meetings. So, teachers can be alerted and can provide instant feedback to individual students instead of being disrupted or not being aware of individual needs. Thank you very much!
1,105 votesWe are happy to announce the general availability of this feature for Windows, Mac & Mobile devices.

Allow the ending of a meeting to occur by the meeting organiser (i.e. the teacher of a classroom)
Please allow teachers who run a classroom via Teams the option to be able to end meetings. With the imminent closure of schools and needing to run classes online it would be very helpful to be able to do this. Teachers are not going to leave a meeting to let a student run it due to the plethora of issues that would arise so please allow us as the teacher in the Team to end a meeting.
918 votesWe have released the ability for the meeting organizer to “End meeting” for everyone in attendance. For more information, please visit: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/end-a-teams-meeting-for-everyone-in-attendance-5051fa72-8470-4a38-99e4-014535208971.

Ability to pause/turn off meeting chat (both during and after meeting)
I would like to disable & enable the chat function attached to a recurring meeting (or a past meeting). Students use the chat all hours and I can't be there to moderate.

Teams Meetings split screen with interpreter when screen sharing.
When we are doing a Teams Meeting with students who are deaf or hearing impaired, they pin the interpreter to keep them on their screen. This is works great, but when a screen is shared the screen takes over the whole space. The interpreter and other participants are small and in the bottom of the screen. This doesn't allow the student to still clearly see the interpreter. While live captioning is great, when content is being shared from a classroom, students struggle to read and follow the content that quickly. Having a dedicated space on the screen to see the…

Allow to split meeting in separate sessions (breakout rooms)
For online trainnings, we wish to allow to split a meeting into separate sessions. The meeting host can choose to split the participants of the meeting into these separate sessions automatically or manually and can switch between sessions at any time.
The teacher can host a meeting for all classroom and divide sub meetings for students work in small groups and after that they can return to main meeting with all students.

Localization of Microsoft Teams in Albanian language
Dear Sir/Madame,
I’m writing on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of the Republic of Kosovo, regarding the localization of Office 365 and apps in Albanian language.
Some of the apps in Office 365, such as Outlook are already translated and available in Albanian language, but our request is for Microsoft Teams to be localized in Albanian language.
FYI: the region of South East Europe including countries: Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia have around 7 million citizens who’s mother tongue is Albanian.
In this time of Corona Virus we are facing the language difficulties…

Fix very misleading norwegian translation in Assignments module
The "to return" tab in the assignement module is very poorly translated to norwegian, to the point of being misleading. It says "For å gå tilbake"" - which means "to go back", not to return something to the student which is the purpose here. I would guess this is autotranslated - no human would translate it like this. See attached image as well. Thank you!
44 votesThank you very much for your feedback!
This translation was fixed. Now it’s “Returneres”.-Natasha (Microsoft)

Prevent students from muting the teacher and each other
Students are currently able to quiet down the teacher and other students by using a "mute all" button that applies to everyone. A setting to prevent students (members instead of owners) from muting other people for others would be much appreciated!
142 votesThe option to allow only the meeting organizer to mute everyone in a meeting is enabled via presenter & attendee roles:
Presenters can do just about anything that needs doing in a meeting. Attendees have limitations on the actions they can initiate within the meeting, including the following:
- Present
- Mute All
- Remove/Add Users
- Admit Users from Lobby
- Start/Stop RecordingFor more info, please see the documentation below:

Add Names to Live Captions
Live Captions don't have any user association to them. So it is just one "run-on" captioning. Can the names of attendees be added to help track the conversation?

Channel meet now - allow meeting options for to control who joins the meeting as presenter or attendee
At the moment our teachers are using the Meet Now feature for their remote lessons. However that does give the students a lot of power over the meeting, as everyone becomes a presenter.
The presenter role can be restricted for a scheduled meeting, and we are looking at building this into the teachers process of running a lesson, but this isn't always possible.
It would be nice to restrict the Presenter role to just Owners from the Team level, and apply that tot all meetings run from that Team.
Or, have an additional policy setting for Presenters in the Teams…
28 votesWe are happy to announce that we have accelerated this feature to provide the ability for ‘Meet now’ meetings to have access to Meeting options in order to update presenter/attendee controls.
