  1. Archiving Groups

My manager accidentally disbanded our group/team. Now all the conversation and files we had uploaded are all gone. Being able to archive that info and to restore or merge it to another group would be very helpful.

  2. Create a way to share files into channels for multiple teams.

For example if I want to share a set of notes to all three of my classes (teams) Is there a way without having to upload it three separate teams.

  3. File editing is not updated everywhere the file exists.

When you upload the file somewhere, whenever someone edits it - it is edited live (like a Google doc) - which is good.
But if you send that file as a link to someone else, that file becomes an independent version/copy of it. Should be able to share editable files that get updated all across

  4. Editing Channel name doesn't update "File" name

I noticed a typo in my channel name and renamed it to be correct. After, I noticed that my "File" (associated to the built in tab) did not update to reflect the new channel name.

Ok- so I opened the file in SharePoint. When I then edited the "File" name in SharePoint to match, it still did not update the file in Teams so now there are 2 files that I can't figure out how to merge.

Silly me thought that if I just deleted the channel and SharePoint folders (since it was still fairly new and being built) I…

  6. Limit access to a folder (and the files within) to specific members of a team

In some circumstances, there is data pertinent to the team's activities but the data contains sensitive information that should only be viewed by members with more seniority.

It would be nice in a circumstance like this to create a folder and be able to adjust permissions to limit who can access and who can edit.

  7. Inserting files into the Teams OneNote from the Teams Files area.

To be able to insert files directly from the Teams 'Files' area within the Teams 'OneNote'. Presently this can only be done by downloading and then uploading.

  8. Tile view for Photos in Files

AS in sharepoint, a tile view should be available in files so photos can be previewed without having to toggle back to sharepoint.

  9. Linking to OneDrive Files

The ability to link to OneDrive for Business files through teams would be great instead of having to move/copy content. Also, this would allow the leveraging of OneDrive for Business sharing permissions on files. Currently, I have too many documents that students need to be able to download as word documents, but they need to be read-only in Teams.

  10. Attached files to tasks

Attached files on tasks open not in the Teams App itself but into a web-browser (i.e. Safari, Chrome) - and then in that browser it tells us to download the Teams App that we have already downloaded... No way to see/find the document that was attached to the task. (Unless it was shared in other method).

  11. Files Shared with you on One Drive

Before we found out about Microsoft Teams, my teammate shared a One Drive folder with all the members of our team so that we can share and store our deliverables in a centralized storage.

After we found out about Microsoft Team, we wanted to still be able to access the shared One Drive within Microsoft Team so that we will not need to work with 2 separate platforms to store our deliverables.

  12. Option to load a FILE to multiple TEAMS at one time istead of repeating the process again and again.

A lot of wasted time reposting the same information to multiple TEAMS (aka Classes) Should have option to click to post files to multiple TEAMS (or classes) with a simple click.

  13. File folders in Teams: same functionality as Windows Explorer

    • Adding columns (e.g. author of the file) is not possible

    • Changing width of colums not possible

    • Sorting files of a folder has to be redone everytime you opened one of the files

  16. Files between apps easier.

Its time consuming to get files between apps such as email, teams, the local file system, etc...
Example - I cant drag an email or email attachment from outlook or 0365 to teams or any other 0365 app.
That's why we have not had any take up of these products. Everything takes to long and is over complex to perform simple tasks.

  17. Allow an existing Sharepoint to mapped to the team file tabe

Our organization works on SharePoint. We like the look of Teams but need files to work directly with SharePoint. While Teams is intended for a wide audience that may not have SharePoint Licenses, i.e. Students in a class, it would be nice to allow Teams creators to link the Files tab to an existing SharePoint or at the very least be able to delete/hide the files tab.

  18. Users need method to open downloaded file/folder

When one downloads a file in the desktop app, such as an image from a thread, a pop-up notification says that the file was downloaded, but gives no inkling of where it was downloaded to. Some of our less technical users will find this extremely befuddling. "Where did the file go? Maybe I need to click Download again. And again, and again... Now I'll call IT."

Clicking the download notification should pop open Windows Explorer to the location that the file was saved in (i.e. Downloads), or open the new file itself.

  20. computer at work

My personal files are made from home PCs that appear on the computer at work.
I find it hard to control personal files and shared files.
I think there should be a symbol or a prominent display option on the menu bar.
