Reliability issues: crashing, hanging, freezing
Literally Teams will crash 5 or 6 times a day. Hugely annoying and unproductive.
Feature teams have been finding unique areas of improvement around crashes/hangs/lock ups of the client, and have been making small improvements through both proactive and reactive findings to help around reliability regressions. If you happen to see any unique issues, please let us know and we will continue to share updates as they become available.
We continue to have users in our company having Teams "Glitch". We really started noticing it after we turned on MFA. The only ways to resolved temporarily is to clear the cache of teams or uninstall and reinstall.

I have no idea what you guys did. I was yelling at Premier and cc'd you all on the ticket about the atrocious speed/crashing of Teams... and all a sudden today all my end points are working.
Same version of the Teams Client... some back end update somewhere turned up the speed on Teams. If you're having these issues, drop premier a line (if you have it) and cc firstname.lastname@example.org . They know how to fix it; or there's a fix in the wings. I just wish the Team's Team would be more open about it.

I noticed a lot of problems this week. I was on holidays for 1 week and now I can't use it. My laptop is an Intel i7 with 32 GB of RAM and a SSD Disk. Even if I go for Teams in the Web, as soon as I start a meeting, after 30 seconds my computer completely freezes.
Clever of you to close off the original article with 18k votes about how terrible the performance of Teams is.
It's almost unusable and I'm on an i7 8565U with 16GB of RAM and an NVMe drive. I don't know how you can expect this jack of all trades application to be embraced when it runs so badly.
The lag when changing between screens is measured in seconds and seems like it's completely frozen. When my CPU cycles billions of times a second, this is just not good enough.
Finally Teams seems stable, it's been a severe and very annoying issue deeply impacting my work for more than a year. Thank you, I just wish it happened faster.
got the same issue, it is very anoying to mt user's because we got very depended on Teams
Exception code: 0xc0000602
Please fix it asap :-)

@Mohammad Arfath we are experiencing the same issue. The app was working fine since last year, but recently it started having this problem. The camera freezes and misbehaves just in Microsoft Teams, so our theory is an app update introduced this issue recently for us. (this is happening also on a Lenovo X1 Carbon 6th Gen)
A frequent occurrence (several times per week) is that the whole OS becomes non-responsive (often accompanied with a high-pitched shriek from the speakers) for around 10 seconds during a video call, but then recovers.
Less often, I get the OS either crashing, or being indefinitely unresponsive and requiring a forced shutdown, when in a video call.
This is on fully patched Windows 10 on a fairly high spec Dell XPS laptop, and has been a persistent issue over the course of the 14 months or so that I've used Teams.

Have you tried disabling hardware graphics acceleration in Teams settings? That has worked for me a couple times.

Hi, has anybody got a working solution for this issue? we have a similar one, but its only affecting my video, which freezes everytime i have a Teams meeting with more than 2 persons. We tried with few colleagues in same office, but mine is the only video that gets stuck. If i restart my lenovo X1 carbon, the camera works for less than a minute and then freezes again. It doesnt happen for any other apps such as zoom or google meet. Also works well for one to one calls over teams.
I got the same issue with several users. Teams is freezing entire workstation in the middle of a video call. Mostly about half an hour in the middle of the call. Just prior the freeze, Teams is displaying that cpu usage is too high.
The memory usage is so high that Teams often freezes or crashes and slows down my entire computer so much that I can't work. At least I now know the problem and can turn it off when I need to work, but I shouldn't have to have a second device just to use your collaborative work tool!
I have similar issues everytime I close my laptop screen (laptop not shut down) Teams crashes and the process needs killing then Teams restarted! This happens every single time for me and my whole team on their machines. All new Lenovo laptops! So annoying!
I have a brand new HP laptop (about a month old) that is being used for teaching. The college uses MS Teams. The problem faced is that MS Teams freezes and locks up the laptop after 15-20 minutes into the class. It laptop has to be forcefully restarted. After getting back into MS Teams, it freezes again after a few minutes. Time is lost and it is frustrating for the organizer of the meeting. The laptop has 8GB SODIMM DDR4 SDRAM and 512GB Solid State Drive and Intel processor.

Having 2 brand news Lenovo T14s and about 10 Lenovo T490 facing that problem of windows shutdown in the midle of Teams meeting. All computers are fresh windows installed. that is bad when everybody need to work from home.
Teams video meeting spotlight stuck issue, all users stuck in the screen every time, who got spotlight.
Also, we don't need 'small improvements around crashing, reliability, etc' we need significant improvement.
I have been suffering from these problems for the last 6 months, at least and I repeat, the only application doing this on my PC.
It's still the same, no improvement. Just today had to reboot 4 times! unusable, the only application doing this. Zoom and Bluejeans are working fine.
It's hanging a lot. I can't even able to use it. In each 10-15 min I am facing this issue. No idea why this big problem is not addressed til. At least, MS teams web is not freezing, so it's a temporary relief. But, there also it is making status "away" if I am in other page. When I come after some time, it changed the status to "away" automatically. wow
