MAC app fails to update with standard account (needs admin creds)
On most Macs I’ve tried, the automatic update framework is pretty aggressive, and apparently cannot be unconfigured. However, it consistently fails to update the app when I’m logged in with a standard account. The app occasionally prompts for admin creds (I assume it’s making an update helper daemon), and I supply them, but the only Helper process Teams ever runs is owned by the standard account. I’m not sure exactly what to suggest here, because there are several opportunities for change, some of which might obviate usefulness of others. Ideas might be some user interaction to defer the forced relaunch during updates, options for scheduling deferred updates, options to manually supply admin credentials at each update, improve reliability around whatever helper proc is supposed to facilitate updates.
Wanted to let you know that a New Mac installer has released to the Public ring. It has a new auto-update mechanism and will no longer require an admin password for updating!
Thank you for your support and feedback!

This happens to me about 10-12 times a day too. Still no answer from the moderator???

This has been happening a lot starting in July. I have version 1.0.00.19452.

It's not just one or two times I've been typing a password and Teams decides to restart itself and moves the focus to the Teams app. Very annoying!
Yeah, this is still happening. I've tallied it up over the last three weeks and Teams restarts/minimizes itself an average of 8x/day.
This has been happening to me for the last few weeks. Very annoying. I'm constantly missing messages from colleagues because the app has closed without warning.

Issue persists in 1.0.00.12351
I've been keeping a running tally of how often Teams restarts and says it updates and so far today I'm up to 11.

This is seriously becoming an issue for us. We have a lot of Mac users (1,000 institutionally) and some have stopped using it because of this issue.
Mac App version: 1.0.00.10951
App closes and re-opens continuously throughout the day.
Other problems: app minimising, app stealing focus, app restarting etc. This is truly annoying, destroys my flow when I’m working in a productivity app (like word) and really takes away from the usefulness of the app, it drives me to close it when I really should have it open to keep on top of my other team members’ conversations.

Yes, this is quite annoying.

I received this in a ticket: "A few of us have been noticing that Microsoft Teams logs us out VERY often, every couple of hours or so. Is there any way to create a longer log in period? Aside from being very annoying, this is a problem because there is no notification that you've been kicked out and are missing communications." We are Office365 users.

Don't take focus when automatically updating the Teams desktop client on macOS.
