OSX client updates - app quits multiple times a day
It seems whenever the OSX client updates, we get a “An update is ready to install. Microsoft Teams is trying to add a new helper tool.” authentication request, then the app quits. Or sometime the app just quits on it’s own without any notification. When it launches again, the “loading” box then sometimes doesn’t disappear. I really want to roll this out for our teams to start playing with, but having the app quit on us ~10 times a day without notification makes it unusable.
Please email me your logs so I can have the development team investigate.
You can generate logs by using the shortcut CRTL+ALT+SHIFT+1
This will generate a txt file in your Downloads folder starting with the name “MSTeams Diagnostics Log……………”.
Please email the logs to: TEAMSML@microsoft.com and use the Subject line of “OSX client – App Quits”

This still happens for me, at least once per hour, MBP 2018 15" (i9, 32gb ram, 2TB SSD), MacOS 10.14.1, MS Teams 1.0.00.33451.
Microsoft Teams Version 1.1.00.17852. It was last updated on 7/11/18. Still has issues.

Why doesn't Teams just change to be updated on exit, like most other apps out there. There's no need to update several times a day and steal text input focus, it breaks workflow and it's infuriating.

Still closes on me every 30-60 minutes.
You have Microsoft Teams Version 1.1.00.5851. It was last updated on 6/20/18.

I have this problem too. Teams is running and I got the prompt. I've been noticing it pop up seemingly every day?
About Teams gives me the following:

Happens in our environment. Can't use Teams because we miss notifications. The app is constantly closing. Please make this a priority.

This is the only application on Mac that I know if that handles updates in this way. Admin cred prompts is very frustrating.
Yes, I experience the app just quitting on its own without any notification. I have to manually relaunch it, then I get a message that I have the latest updates (or something like that). Why the app quits, then pops up that it has the latest update?
Missing important teams notifications because my client is not running.

Come on MIcrosoft fix the bug. I get this message multiple time per Day. Cannot work with Teams.
Most users on my team have this issue
Yes, I experience the app just quitting on its own without any notification. I have to manually relaunch it, then I get a message that I have the latest updates (or something like that). I have tried to mitigate this issue by running the application from the Applications folder home directory so there are no admin ownership issues, but that has not solved the problem.
We have users reporting this issue for a while now. Hope this gets fixed soon.
