Turn off message preview in notification toast
Currently, when I receive a message, a preview of this message is displayed in the notification toast. As we will be using Teams at work, it would be great for privacy if I had the option to turn off these previews, so the notification toast will just say "New Message from XY"
This feature team has been aware of this request, and it is under review.

This is absolutely essential, and should be the default when sharing your screen.
This (consumer Skype integration) https://www.onmsft.com/news/teams-now-can-communicate-with-skype-heres-how-to-enable
Makes this feature more important since it will lead to more personal messages.

Any updates on this?

I would like to turn off the preview of messages.
1400 people have voted for this functionality, the team has been "aware of this request" for the better half of a year, and still nothing. How? All I want to do is turn off toast, but still have the alert noise and the blinking orange teams icon.
This is the only thing stopping my team from adopting Teams. I hope that this is fixed
WTx...? This takes so long???

Hello, any updates on this? It's really annoying to have all my private messages being exposed to people behind me or during a screen share session. Deactivating the banners is not a good option, because it's hard to notice that there is a notification, since the notification icon is very subtle.
Any updates on this. This is simply annoying to have every message pop up on bottom corner. Super privacy issue. The minimized window should simply blink or show unread message icon. Can't believe this is taking so long to fix
It's just mental, not to have this available "by design", more so if it is not implemented asap after been spotted as a BIG failure from MS part. This is also a payed product, so obviously MS must address this complaints really fast.

Why this simple update is not comming? We don't want to see preview. It's a privacy issue.

The message preview should not show up; even the first message from anyone. It should get minimized to the task bar, so we know there is a new message and on clicking the "flashing" icon in the task bar, one can check the message.
While collaborating (screen sharing or when someone is looking into your screen) these pop-ups can be distressing.

Yeah, there should be a middle in between getting notifications but not allowing to accumulate on the screen, maybe just show the first message.

I don't care as much about the privacy as I do that it is wasted space. I don't need to/want to see message previews - just highlight that someone sent me a message, and I can click on it when I want to.
Just like you can opt out of message previews in Outlook to save space, I should have the same option in Teams.

While i think this feature is a nice/must have. Just don't share your screen - learn to share applications only.

Is this added yet? Absolutely critical in a world of virtual meetings and screensharing

I would like to reinforce the importance of this feature. Now, to prevent the exposure of my privacy, I was forced to disable the chat notifications. Even if I stay alert, I’ve missed important messages because of that.
One possible solution is implement the same notification style used at Skype for Business, showing only the first message of the conversation.

Just disable any and all "toast" notifications and leave the icon flashing on the task bar. Skype had this option. Why couldn't MS have put it in TEAMS? For channels and individual messages. Also, have a way to make groups like in Skype. This way I can have a list of people in a department and don't have to try and remember each and every name. With everyone being virtual during the pandemic. it should have a higher priority.

This is absolutely essential. I have had messages that customers should not be seeing come through while sharing my screen with them.
So, any updates? Been a while this was raised.
