Turn off message preview in notification toast
Currently, when I receive a message, a preview of this message is displayed in the notification toast. As we will be using Teams at work, it would be great for privacy if I had the option to turn off these previews, so the notification toast will just say "New Message from XY"

To provide you with even more privacy, Teams now lets you turn off message previews in your desktop notifications. Message previews are on by default. To turn them off, go to your profile picture, select Settings > Notifications > Show message preview. From here, switch the toggle to off.

When will this be solved? These toast notifications can end up taking up the entire right half of my screen when I'm in group chats. Its distracting and I also don't like that it shows a preview of the chat.

How do we prevent private chat notifications when we are sharing on screen on a call?

We migrated from Skype for Business to Teams, and I regret that we did it. Skype for Business of course had this functionality.

This is an issue that should be prioritised ASAP. As a work user of Teams with people leader responsibilities, I often receive confidential information from and about staff. It it is a significant privacy issue to receive toast notifications while presenting/screen-sharing/generally collaborating with colleagues.

The ability to suppress the toast notifications when in presentation mode without turning off the chat notification would be nice.

I would like to have an option to switch off the preview AND the notification sound for messages.
Also the notificatoin sound for chats - I cannot turn this off, without switching off the ringing tone.
Example - I was today in a call and someone messaged me 4 times (because, to see that I am in a call, they have extra to hover over my picture - also a big disatvantage), so I keep hearing this "ping" and the message pops out on my screen. This is distracting. -

When is this going to be available?

You could just hold the toasts until after the Screen sharing has ended. Which would save people not having to turn toasts on and off. No toast appear while in screen sharing mode would be a great implementation to deal with this issue.

MS, this is a MASSIVE security issue. How was adding more emoji icons more important than this feature? You had it in Skype for business, so it is clearly possible!

I have same issue. When will this error be fixed?

This is a security issue when sharing a screen. Inbound messages may contain sensitive information not intended for the current meeting audience. Please give us the ability to hide toast messages or at least an option to notify without the text of the message.

How this was not an obvious feature is beyond me.

Any news???? It's been more than 6 months! This is getting ridiculous, those banners are totally inappropriate, both due to the lack of privacy, and the fact that they pile up to the right hand side until they reach the top of the screen and hide 1/3 of it! This is unbelievable that there as no alternative between those banners or no notification at all, poor poor judgement from developers.

Any Updates? Since the pandemic hit, we have had multiple situations where private messages are showing up during screen sharing sessions through teams or zoom etc.As you can imagine this is a huge issue that needs to be addressed.
