Improve audio notifications
VOLUME: The sound is too low!! Most people don't think it's even on. Let us customize the sound level, please.
UNIQUE SOUNDS FOR CALLS VS CHATS/MESSAGES: Right now sounds are all or nothing. This is not good. For example, you may want to have sound for Calls but not for chat or messages. There is a difference when you need to hear that someone is calling you – versus getting the constant bing/bing/bing on message chat.
UNIQUE SOUND FOR PRIVATE CHAT: It would be nice to have different sounds for private chat and notifications, so that its easy to know what's coming in without having to look at it.
The team has updated the default sound for Teams notifications so it is more noticeable. We are in final testing, with a goal to release the new sound by the end of this quarter.
Please uncouple banner notifications from sound notifications
Provide us the option to toggle sound and banner separately. Although banner triggering sound makes sense in mobile environment, on desktop the banner pop-ups can get annoying in a chat channel with 20+ individuals. Sound-only option would allow me to pay attention for messages I may need to read, but would not disrupt my work by blocking a large portion of my screen.
The notification options are very limited. Allow for a sound notification without a pop up showing the message content. This is a critical feature. A pop up is acceptable, however the user should be able to decide if the message content is displayed or not.
I want to be able to get banner with only sound notification but no message previews. Message previews are visible to others as well - which we don't want always. That means - banners without message preview so that we still have notification sound. I think this is a very important feature which is missing and very much required.

Please return to the old sound, or ensure it is available. The old one was a nice notification. The new one is so loud and obnoxious that I have to turn it off! The other available sounds are all loud and obnoxious. You took the one good one away.

The number one productivity kill for me is the constant sound notifications on chat messages while I'm trying to finishing a train of thought or research what's being asked in chat. Especially for people that can't type a complete sentence in chat but shotgun responses rapid fire. Being able to have granular control over sound in notifications would be a MOST welcome feature. Seeing a number in the task tray icon is enough for me to know messages are waiting.
I wanto to be able to disable the banner and keep the sound when a message comes in.
hey, the end of the quarter is past. Wheres our upgrade for the sounds?

Please give us the option to modify the notification sound - some of us are away from our PC's and would like the option to pick something more annoying.

Allowing your users to change specific sounds on a client machine is not rocket science. MS Teams does so much to do so little for the user experience. The ire isn't about just the sounds... it's about the philosophy behind the decision to disregard users in many ways (of which this is another example).
1. Users have been able to change or modify sounds and notifications since the days of dial-up modems and SoundBlaster16 cards. With enough ingenuity you could even change the sounds on DOS games. This is a baffling and unnecessary step backwards. Come on, Microsoft!
2. There are legitimate user NEEDS to change the notification sounds (plural). The singular MS Teams notification sound is the "Check Engine" of notifications. "SOMETHING HAPPENED IN TEAMS!". Great. What, exactly? A chat message directed at me? A new message in a group chat? Did someone add a person to a team? Was I added to a team? POINTLESS!!!!
How about making the option to choose your own alert sounds a thing. I have hearing damage and literally CAN NOT hear the alert sounds for MS Teams AT ALL even on my desktop speakers. The frequency is literally in a dead zone for my hearing. Just add the alert sounds for windows errors into the repo for MS Teams or something please. This is ridiculous and the lack of support seems to really be echoing the changes I've seen with Microsoft since they dumped their testing team for OS updates.
ALLOW ME TO CHANGE THE **** MESSAGE NOTIFICATION SOUND, IT IS AWFUL and JARRING
Give me an option to replace these ULTRA-ANNOYING sound notifications with my own.
It takes MS team TWO years to get simple feature delivered - SERIOUSLY?!

Please allow full customization of the sound - the volume, events and the sound itself! The existing one is way too subtle!
Hope the sound improvement roll out asap..
Please allow the user to decide what sound is used, its volume, and for what events it occurs. It's fine to provide defaults, but please give the user some control over this.
Perhaps something like the existing Windows model where one can modify sounds for each kind of event via the control-panel?
I hate banners, but sound notifications are great. Unlink the two please!
have to agree with this.
We need to possibly disable banner etc. without disable sound too.
You need to make it so we can have audio notifications in TEAMs rooms as well as in private chats. We also need to be able to customize them. When you are trying to keep track of over 15 rooms, being able to flag certain ones with audio (like you could do in Skype) is essential. Thanks.
