Increase duration for desktop notifications
The channel/team on which the notification has been made should stay more/better/longer visible so that you won't miss one.
Once support for Windows 10 native notifications is released, users who choose to use Windows notifications will be able to utilize Windows OS specific settings for the length of time to display notifications. Mac does not have an OS specific setting, so will not have the support.
What do you mean "Mac does not have an OS specific setting"? What would you call the Notifications Center? Of *COURSE* it has a system/OS setting for notifications, and Teams should implement support for it on the Mac.

A summary windows of all that has happened in MS Teams across all channels would be nice as well- or the option for a floating/dockable auto hide sidebar.
I actually would like the opposite: once I see a notification, i'll deal with it when I'm ready. until then, I want it off my screen and out of my way. they constantly get in the way of the text on my screen.
making the time adjustable would solve my problem and that of the other users who want them to persist longer

Also have a setting where you can have the Chat notification display, say like any of the corners or maybe right in the middle of the screen if that is what someone wants. Also a setting for time but one that says don't let it go away UNTIL someone has interacted with the dialog box if that is what they choose.
I am thinking of something along the lines of SuperToast for instance.
Let's be honest here, this is basic functionality that should have been included out of the box.
Please can the chat notification box be made bigger (or have an option to do this) as well as an option for the display to last longer on screen?
I would like that too (please don't forget the W10 LTSC versions can be a bit different)
I guess this question is related to : Persistent notifications
and : MacOS notifications
Would really love to see notifications in Teams work like S4B. That includes persistence of the notifications.

What is the point of a collaboration tool if you dont even notice someone added something?
Please sort out notifications. A subtle change in a tiny icon is no use whatsoever.
Is there any update on improving notifications in Teams?
At least offer the ability to control the notification VOLUME and SOUND independently of other applications.
And have the option to have it notify on ALL messages at ALL times regardless of what application has the focus.
I love the product, but this makes it next to useless

Please don't forget about Mac. My boss has given up using Teams only because the notifications are impossible to spot on Mac when you have multiple screens, windows open, etc. If Teams was just able to use the built-in MacOS notifications system all would be solved.
Yes, please! The only complaint from users is they miss the notifications! Make it pop up and stay till dismissed..
I thought I was doing something wrong until I saw the comments here from many others with this problem. First, this causes a lot of pain when I don't happen to see the chat notification for the few seconds it's visible. This has to be fixed. Second, why does IOS even allow the 'persistent' option to be selected?

Agreed with the many other comments here. Better, stronger, more persistent notifications are sorely needed. Without them, the platform is practically useless. Please MS give us a fix here! Going back to Slack because of this issue.
It would be useful if on the iOS app you could choose any notification sound rather than being restricted to the app ones. Our production staff work in a noisy environment and since switching to teams for group chat/call keep missing them
unbelievable, years for such a minor improvement, and yet tons of updates been done, even a new company startup for a phone apps done much better
a quick fix will be using web version, and turn on browser desktop notification. it will work even with their own browser.

Extend Teams pre and post meeting notifications - 5 minutes doesn't cut it

Coming back to check on this and was hoping for a better update that this :(
It is pretty pathetic to be honest and the whole functionality makes me wonder if the devs and the users have a different view of the requirements. Imagine if in outlook every time your mouse passed over an email it set it to read and you missed the email..... One of my roles is to be a collaboration Champion for Microsoft O365 products, and I believe our company is the second largest user of MS Teams in the world behind Microsoft. This is a serious and major issue. At a time when we are looking to decide what our main communication platform will be moving forwards, this does not look good for Teams, which is a shame, because one poorly implemented major feature, could kill the great work elsewhere in the product
We have just migrated to Teams. But some of the notification issues are problematic. The lack of notifications and not providing enough time prior to a meeting is something that needs to be addressed. Another major issue is that we have users call in but do not have names assigned. When you are hosting a call with a significant number of participants, it is challenging to know who is speaking. In WebEx, we were able to rename a call number to a specific name.
Is it "soon" yet?
