Increase duration for desktop notifications
The channel/team on which the notification has been made should stay more/better/longer visible so that you won't miss one.

Once support for Windows 10 native notifications is released, users who choose to use Windows notifications will be able to utilize Windows OS specific settings for the length of time to display notifications. Mac does not have an OS specific setting, so will not have the support.

Amazed by the lack of consensus on this one, so I'll just throw another voice in for:
- On Windows notifications are too big and stay up for too long
- Somehow Skype was way better in this regard, the icon gently flashed at the bottom until I attended to it -- unobtrusive but impossible to overlook for any length of timeLatest release of Teams is still missing the mark on this feature and I'm sure it's inhibiting uptake and/or collaboration

I wrote this in a forum but want to share here. There is definitely a UX problem with notifications. I am a UX/UI designer and work on a Mac.
I wish there was an easier way to visually see unread notifications.
For the Microsoft team, when there are multiple unread messages, most of them go missed since the Activity feed shows everything and there's no ability to keep the unread filter on after navigating away from the Activity panel.
I would love to see a way to keep the unread filter active OR keep the red dot on the Chat and Teams panel icons until those individual messages are clicked on, whether it be within the Activity panel or the native channels. Many of my coworkers do not see notifications, most specifically from the Teams section. Because of this, we do not utilize the Teams section and only really use the Chat section. Something about the UX is just not making notifications easy to find.

While we are there, few other also asked in different tickets for custom notification position (instead of fixed bottom right)

Agree, in addition to a banner being longer visible, please also add the following feature. Currently the only visual reminder I see is a “1” in the Teams icon. Please change this to show in an additional sidebar icon who contacted me, and make that “icon” flash so it visually stands out.

I keep missing meetings as the toast disappears too quickly. Blink and you'll miss it! Would love to see persistent messages for meetings being started.

It also needs to be just ONE notification. There are people who send one sentence at a time in chats and each message pops up as a separate notification on the screen, each one above the last until it reaches the top of my screen.

I do not need this. If anything, I need it to be MUCH shorter so it will not distract me. The toast is also too big.

Skype was great because it was it's own separate window that flashed and was easily visible until you opened it. With Teams it's too easy to miss a chat even with the notifications and emails enabled.

Please also add this for the Android app! My phone is vibrating every 2 seconds with the amount of discussion that is generated and it's very stressful.

What do you mean "Mac does not have an OS specific setting"? What would you call the Notifications Center? Of *COURSE* it has a system/OS setting for notifications, and Teams should implement support for it on the Mac.

A summary windows of all that has happened in MS Teams across all channels would be nice as well- or the option for a floating/dockable auto hide sidebar.

I actually would like the opposite: once I see a notification, i'll deal with it when I'm ready. until then, I want it off my screen and out of my way. they constantly get in the way of the text on my screen.
making the time adjustable would solve my problem and that of the other users who want them to persist longer

Also have a setting where you can have the Chat notification display, say like any of the corners or maybe right in the middle of the screen if that is what someone wants. Also a setting for time but one that says don't let it go away UNTIL someone has interacted with the dialog box if that is what they choose.
I am thinking of something along the lines of SuperToast for instance.
Let's be honest here, this is basic functionality that should have been included out of the box.

Please can the chat notification box be made bigger (or have an option to do this) as well as an option for the display to last longer on screen?

I would like that too (please don't forget the W10 LTSC versions can be a bit different)
I guess this question is related to : Persistent notifications

Would really love to see notifications in Teams work like S4B. That includes persistence of the notifications.

What is the point of a collaboration tool if you dont even notice someone added something?
Please sort out notifications. A subtle change in a tiny icon is no use whatsoever. -

Is there any update on improving notifications in Teams?
At least offer the ability to control the notification VOLUME and SOUND independently of other applications.
And have the option to have it notify on ALL messages at ALL times regardless of what application has the focus.
I love the product, but this makes it next to useless
