Integrate with MacOS notifications
Notifications built into the OS (which all apps I've seen use other than Outlook and now Teams) are more functional and allow for more user control. Most importantly, they honor Do Not Disturb settings, which is critical.
We are continuing to work on this feature. As with Windows notifications, we are also doing work to give users the choice between Teams notifications & Mac notifications.
We will update you as work progresses.

I also find it quite annoying that the Teams notifications do not obey to my MacOSs notification settings.
Same issue here, notifications are unreadable as always behind other system ones and don't respect do not disturb. Just drop your own framework and interface with the system one, Apple have fairly good UI component designers.

A good citizen respects the local laws and conventions. Not only is microsoft not abiding to these standards, but its doing a poor job implementing these functionalities.
On my system (10.15.4) with teams 1.3.00.8663, half of the notifications I get are just a white rectangle! I need to hover over them for the contents to appear!
Background: I use dark them and connect/disconnect a docking with an external monitor constantly.

It's super frustrating when my macOS notifications visually overlap and hide my Teams notifications. At a minimum, figuring out how to display the Teams-proprietary notifications in a way that is visible when there are existing macOS notifications would be greatly appreciated.

This is killing me — missing notifications while in a full-screen app! I'd like to know what the status "Working on it" actually means. Could you provide a concise update that will let everyone here know a rough timeline? To me, this has to be the top macOS feature request (I can't think of anything else that would trump this)
The current notifications are hidden when using full screen apps in MacOS. This feature is much needed.
+1 Need this feature now

I am generally a MS Teams fan, but it's embarrassing that this still hasn't been addressed... 😕
+1 Need this feature now. Super annoying to be sharing your screen for a presentation and having all notifications silenced except for Teams because it doesn't follow the built-in notification system.
This feature is absolutely essential, especially with more people telecommuting right now, we can't have these notifications interrupting meetings. We need them to respect the Do Not Disturb feature.
It's shocking that this is still an issue...

If Teams is *minimized* on a Mac laptop, you do *NOT* get *ANY* notifications. There are other posts related to this, and this is related to no integration with MacOS notifications. My team and I stopped using Teams because of this. What's the point of sending an instant message if there's a good chance the other person won't see it?

There are MANY MANY MANY solid reasons presented here for Teams to use OS-level notifications, but what is really amazing to me is that Teams (which still does NOT have them) is the replacement/upgrade for Skype for Business, which DOES. I noticed this problem immediately while attempting to transition to the "improved" solution.
If this is not the highest priority item for the macOS client, something is seriously wrong. MS should be embarrassed by this failure. Supporting native notifications on macOS is not hard, I have worked with those APIs before. In fact, the decision to use a custom solution here is baffling. If I was not forced to use Teams by my company, I would switch to Slack for this reason alone. My favorite is when a notification from a MS Office app that does support native notifications (eg auto update) is covering a Teams notification 😂😭. This would keep me up at night if I was a production owner for this application.

The Teams notifications are driving me crazy. If I have any native notifications pop ups on the screen and I receive any Teams notification, they appear beneath the other pop ups and it's a mess.
Can you please make Teams pop ups appear as Mac OS notifications?
Hello? Is this coming? Working from home is ruined because there are no native Mac notifications.
If you're working in fullscreen you miss Teams notifications, only sound goes through, that's awful. When you are presenting your screen is stacked with Teams notifications, which is even worse. Why does Microsoft invent a wheel where it's been already invented? One of the reasons I'll never use Outlook is its notifications in macOS. Please, demolish and build as it should have been.
